It kinda got lost in the rush of Father’s day weekend; but I reached my target weight even with a big Father’s day diner. I’m going to continue dieting until at least Friday; but anything I lose from this point is a bonus. It’s a small victory since I didn’t have that much to lose (21 lbs); but I’m still proud of myself. I’m never going to have a “chiseled physique”; but it’s still nice not to have a big spare tire anymore. I know that much of it was due to increasing the intensity of my workouts but I still want to thank California Girl for helping me with my diet. My only regret is that I let myself get fat in the past which makes achieving and maintaining a good silhouette that much harder now.

The last two times I made the all day, out and back drive to get or drop off The Boy at college, I’ve drank a can amp energy. I wouldn’t want to have some every day; but one can kept me alert for both legs of the long drive. I used to drink Propel Invigorating water before it was discontinued; but amp energy has a LOT more kick. I had not noticed any side effects; but the kids talked about how I was “Amped up”. That made me curious about other people’s experiences with energy drinks. Do they help or hurt things in the bedroom? I’ve been on the road so it hasn’t been an issue; but I wouldn’t want to drink any if it would ruin “plans” we have for later in the evening. California Girl would describe me as energetic and I’d like to keep it that way. We won’t be making another trip until sometimes next month; and by then, we like to know the effect it has on our options. I’ve always been careful not to drink too much alcohol when we go out to make sure that I’ve got enough energy for later. So, if this is the same sort of a thing, I want to know before it becomes a problem and spoils our evening.
