Because of the power situation, we didn’t have much any light for our photo session. So, we decided to take some photographs by candlelight. They didn’t come out as out as well as we would have liked; partly because we were using a new camera and partly because a candle isn’t very much light; but they portray the circumstances we were in for the past few days so we’re fond of them anyway. So, here are a couple of photographs of what we do when we don’t have any electricity.

Despite all of the downed trees and power lines, the US Postal Service is still delivering mail. So, the new camera that we had ordered recently was delivered as promised on Monday. The battery was discharged since it was brand new; but I was able to charge it in the evening when I was called back in to work on Monday to resolve several issues. It doesn’t have all of the features of our current camera, and its 8 megapixel resolution is only slightly higher; but, it is much smaller and easier to use; especially for California Girl who is not as much of a technology buff as I am. Anyway, we did the same thing as we do with all of our new cameras; we take naked pictures of ourselves. Here is our first couple of photos with the new camera, one taken with flash and one without. We don’t plan to completely replace our current camera. But we hope to use the new one in simple point and shoot situations.

With the big game coming up this weekend against SC, California Girl and I thought it was time to don school colors and show our support for the Buckeyes. We had our photo session as usual this past Tuesday; but with me being super busy at work and The Girl having soccer games, its only just now that I’ve found a few minutes to edit and post the results. One of the nice things about The Boy being away at college is that when The Girl is at soccer practice or out with her friends we have the house to ourselves. When I got home from my late afternoon run to ease the stress of a long day of work, California Girl suggested that we make the most of the empty house. We had quite a storm on Tuesday. As a result there was no thought of going outside. We’re just glad that we didn’t lose electricity. Some areas nearby were not so lucky. Since we’ve taken so many pictures in the bedroom, we decided to take a few pictures in the master bathroom as I got ready for the evenings activities. I love the summer but I hate mowing the grass. Because of the fence, there is a lot of edging. Plus I’ve got a lot of bushes, etc. to cut around. I’d much rather be in the pool. One thing I like, however, is that California Girl is always waiting for me. After a quick shower she usually makes me forget about having to do the homeowner thing.
