The U.S. managed to win their group in the World Cup despite being robbed of not one but TWO goals by poor officiating. It’s amazing that they have a competition for the best soccer team in the world with what are obviously not the best officials. I know that they’re looking for unbiased officials; but what good are they if they can’t keep up with the best players in the world? Anyway, since we were busy watching the World Cup, we didn’t have time to do anything special for today. So here is a continuation of our open window theme taken from a different perspective.

I mentioned last week that I’ve started attending an evening boxing class with The Girl on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Although I’m the only one that has to get up the next day since California Girl works from home and school’s out for the summer for both kids, it is starting to get late by the time I get home and get cleaned up so we’ve decided to reschedule our weekly photo session to Wednesday. Everyone (but me) can sleep in on Thursday so it’s OK if we eat later. (We still have pizza for dinner on Tuesday.) Anyway, since we’ve got two pair of boxing gloves we thought they would be good to use in a photo session. We think both of these photos were fun, don’t you?

Chickie asked in the comments to last week’s HNT post “Do you all ever have sex under the covers?” During the summer, the answer is basically no. Our bedroom is a comfortable temperature; and we usually have sex in the morning or early evening so we usually aren’t going to bed when we’re finished. For us, sex in general and oral sex in particular is easier when we’re on top of the covers. We do sometimes take photographs but they’re what we would be doing anyway. Here are a couple of what we did earlier today.

California Girl had some stuff to do earlier in the day so she had just finished her workout when I got home from work. We take a lot of showers together in the mornings; but I’m often on my way out the door (to work or to one of the kids’ activities) before she’s finished getting ready. As I mentioned in the comments of last week’s HNT post, I like to watch her (un)dress and get ready to take on the day. So, I just sat on the bed and watched after I was finished showering and shaving my head.

I really liked the first photograph below. Long time readers will notice it’s similarly to one of my all time favorite photographs. Like nearly all of our favorites it’s almost SFW. But, as is often the case, things led to some definitely NSFW activity.

We recently realized that it has been a long time since we changed the image in the “About Us” area of our sidebar and the reduced version of it that we use for our Gravatar. So, even though we haven’t changed much and think that the picture still suits us, we decided that it was time to create a new one. We photographed ourselves in a number of different poses and narrowed our selection to the two images shown below. Which of the two do you think should be final selection? We’ll plan to update the image on Sunday so please tell us your favorite before then.

As you see below, this has been an “eventful” week. But almost nothing stops us from our weekly photo session. So, here are our photos from this week. We were trying to catch the twilight. The earlier photos came our well, especially the first picture of California Girl. Unfortunately the light was fading fast and the later photographs were too dark. But, we still ended with a couple of other photos we liked. We hope you like them too.

Osbasso requested that everyone publish a Winter Olympics themed post for this week’s HNT. We decided to use today’s post to pay our respects to Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili, who suffered a fatal crash while training at Whistler the day before the 2010 Games officially opened. We did not and will not watch the video of his accident. Our heart goes out to his family and his teammates.

Since we were taking photographs of the snow anyway, we though it be good to include it in our HNT photos for today. Ohio didn’t receive as much snow as in the east; but we’ve still got almost two feet of snow on the ground. When you look at our backyard, you can’t even tell that we have a swimming pool because of all the snow. We thought that it makes for an interesting background. There has been a lot of blowing and drifting; but you can see how much snow we’ve received. It’s a good thing our neighbors don’t look out of their rear windows.

If you have kids who play sports in high school, you are probably familiar with the tradition of “Senior Night” when the parents of graduating seniors are recognized. The Girl had her last senior night recently, at which California Girl received a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Because they were so nice, we decided to feature them in today’s post. Some of the trophies that the kids have won are in background. We thought it was very appropriate given today’s theme. The Boy’s days of winning trophies for athletic competitions are probably over; but, hopefully, there are a few more in The Girl’s future.
