• This has been a weird week. Since, unlike last year, The Girl has a vehicle at school, I didn’t have to retrieve either kid for Thanksgiving break. It seemed strange; but good, not having to drive anywhere in the holiday traffic.
• Since I didn’t have to travel (and I am out of vacation) I worked a “full” day Wednesday. I usually take vacation the day before Thanksgiving so I hadn’t realized how non-productive of a day it has become. People started leaving before lunch. The building was practically deserted when I left.
• California Girl has been on vacation all week. I don’t go shopping on Black Friday so I’ve got nothing to do but relax for the next four days. The Girl has a tradition of going to all the super early sales with one of her girlfriends; but they are often back home after a full night/day of shopping before I wake up.
• This post is late too; but that is the way that this week has gone.

This week, especially Tuesday, has been kinda very hectic so we did not have time for our weekly photo session. We will definitely publish a photo post this week; but it may be a bit later than usual. Unlike most years, I have to work today; so we’ll get a “late” start on our Thanksgiving break as well. We will have a house full of kids over the long weekend, so, for a few days, it will be just like old times.

California Girl and I were reminiscing about the early days of HNT, so we decided to get out our old camera out of the closet and re-enact one of our first HNT photographs. Compared to the modern ones we use today, our old camera seems very primitive. Then one feature that we miss was the flip-out viewfinder which made it very easy to take self-portraits for HNT. Anyway, here’s a voyeuristic viewpoint what our photo session were like in the “old days” of HNT. We’ve certainly come a long way.

• The corporate calendar on my android smartphone weirded out and stopped synchronizing. Its’ personal rather than company provided; but I still use it to keep myself organized during the day. When this happens, the “fix” is to delete all of the app’s data which, of course, means that I had to re-set up ALL of my email accounts that I sync with. It’s not any fun at all re-entering all of my email settings; especially since I use difficult to remember (and difficulty to type) passwords. It happens every few months; and it’s always a colossal nuisance when it does.
• Then an iTunes update died in the middle of installing and didn’t roll back properly which the left iTunes in limbo. Since it was in an indeterminate state, I couldn’t uninstall OR reinstall. It took HOIRS of trying different things before I was able to fix it. Computers are useful devices; but when things go wrong they go spectacularly wrong.
• It’s also worth noting that I am writing this post with pen and paper since our computer was “unable to start” and setup repair has been running for a LONG time. I’ve got backups from yesterday so I’ll eventually be able to bring it back to life if the automated repair continues to fail; but its just one more thing to stop me from dong the things that I like to do.
• I was going to write something; more but I decided to stop complaining.

I know that it is very late but I still almost didn’t get this post up. Nothing notable; just one of those occasions where I’ve been simultaneously busy at work and at home which doesn’t; leave much if any time for blogging. We still had or photo session on Tuesday. If fact, I even edited the photographs for posting. I just didn’t; get the rest of the post ready; and we always like words to accompany our pictures. Anyway, now you can put away the violin; here are our “Tuesday” photos.

Since I am usually the person who sets up the camera, we post more candid photographs of California Girl than we do of me. It’s not a deliberate omission; our preference is for an approximately equal number of pictures of both of us. I just spend more time outside the view of the camera, and therefore not in as many candids/outtakes. So, when we ended up with a good snapshot of me waiting for California Girl to get her diaphragm, we thought it would be good HNT photograph. And, as is our custom, we’ve included a photo of us together, just because.

• The battery in California Girl’s watch has run down again. We really like our watches; but it’s kinda a nuisance that they have to be sent out for service. We wear them in the pool so it’s good to maintain their water resistance; but it’s a PIA to be without it.
• I forgot to take my medicine before I left for work on Monday. I know that it’s not good for me; but I greatly enjoyed a day without frequent bathroom breaks. I hadn’t realized how much of an effect it had until I didn’t take it. Generics are cheaper; but there is a lot of variation between manufacturers. Apparently, I had a very low quality one for my last refill.
• It has come to an end now; but The Girl’s soccer team had a very good season. They had so many games postponed because of bad weather that they couldn’t make them all up. The wet weather we had in October was good for our lawn; but not so good for outside sports.
• The first nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) will be conducted today at 2PM EST. Broadcast television and radio are so old school. They need a way to distribute alerts on Facebook ant Twitter. We seldom watch TV or listen to the radio except for sports.

Halfway through the NFL season and the Bengals have a better record than the hated Steelers who are coming to town on Sunday. We showed our team spirit last month; but, at the time, California Girl did not have a new jersey. We always enjoyed our matching shirts, so, when I was doing errands near the mall earlier this week, I stopped in and got her a new #14. Our #9 and #85 jerseys have been permanently retired. We hope that the totally dysfunctional team chemistry they created is gone forever too. In a turnabout for last time, California Girl is wearing her new spirit wear and I am the one who is jerseyless. For the first time in many years, it’s fun to be a Bengals fan in November.

We all know the mnemonic “spring forward, fall back” for Daylight Savings Time. Unfortunately, for me it should probably be “just stay home”. Today was not a good day even for a Monday. I never get a good night’s sleep after the time change. I’m fine on Sunday when I don’t have to get up; but I keep waking up during the night on days that I have to go to work. Unlike some people who just have to set their clocks; my body takes a long time to adjust. I fact, I was so discombobulated this morning that I forget to take my medicine before I left for work. I’d like nothing more than to curl up on the couch for the rest of the evening; unluckily, I’ve got to do my final research for tomorrow’s election. Hopefully that won’t take too long.

Since we highlighted the Heart Massager in our last Two For Tuesday post, we decided to feature the other goodie that we received from Pure Romance in today’s post. The second product was some air-activated arousal cream for women called Ex-T-Cee. We’re not exactly sure how it works; but we like it a lot. In the first photo, I am applying some Ex-T-Cee cream to California Girl’s naughty bits. And in the second photograph, I am going down on California Girl (and eating some Ex-T-Cee in the process). It really does taste like sugar cookies. We’ve used it three out of the last four days. We don’t think that the tube is going to last us very long.
