Once both kids are in school, we’ll probably leave our bedcam set up all of the time so that it’s easier to photograph things spontaneously. Since the only thing that we need to do is turn it on, we’ll probably make more movies too. Unlike now when we’ve temporarily been having our photo session on Wednesday night, every day will be photo day. After one more Wednesday photo session we’ll return to our regular schedule In September. Here’s one of our favorite types of photos no matter when it is taken.

We’re practicing self shots so that we can snap a quick NSFW photograph when we ever find ourselves in a “suitable” situation. It’s easy to carry so I took this photo with our regular camera but I need to get good at aiming my cell phone as well. We’ll have an empty house soon; but we still like being outside when we can.

Random Wednesday #14

Miscellaneous musings from the mind of Midwestern City Boy (and sometimes California Girl).

  • Another Friday the 13th has come and gone.  We know it’s just coincidence; but since we have bad luck we planned to not do much of anything on last Friday.  This Friday, we’ll be hanging out in the pool unless it rains.
  • August feels weird now that both kids are preparing for or already in college.  Normally, we would have been busy with their high school activities by this time.  Now, August is just another summer month.
  • One of the problems with getting a phone that has just been released is that it’s hard to find accessories for it.  I had to order the screen protector on the internet and still can’t find a case that fits it.
  • Now that I have a smartphone I don’t know how I survived so long without one.  The only thing that I don’t like about it is that I have to charge it a lot more frequently which is a PIA since I don’t have an extra charger to keep at work like I did with my old phone.
  • I’ve gained two or three pounds since I started boxing so frequently.  My weight is stable, just slightly higher than I would like for it to be.  I’d like to think that its muscle; but I always watch my weight (sometimes even too much) since I’m never going back to the days when I was 100 ponds heaver than I am now.

Going Mobile

Since I recently got an Android phone, I’ve become interested in how this site looks on mobile devices.  For now, I’ve decided to use WPtouch.  It only works with iPhones/iPods, Androids and Blackberries; but there aren’t many (if any) other 3G/4G phones that can effectively browse a multimedia heavy site such as ours anyway.  If you’re browsing on a mobile device and have any problems, please let us know.  And if you prefer viewing the regular layout, the control to switch between themes scroll is at the bottom of the page.

P.S. For the past month or so we’ve been drowning in comment spam, so I created a script to automatically delete “spam” comments on posts more than one month old.  That makes the spam moderation queue much easier to for us to manage.  We haven’t had a single real comment erroneously marked as spam on older posts; but if for some reason your comment doesn’t show up, please accept our apology in advance.  It should never happen to comments posted by real people anyway.

And for those of you who visit using regular computers and haven’t had any problems commenting, here is a rare NSFW photograph of #cg wearing her eyeglasses.  (It’s not unusual for her to wear glasses; but she usually takes them off in potentially naughty situations).

I mentioned on Tuesday that I got a new phone so we thought that it would be fun to feature it in this week’s post. California Girl is much more interesting than any technology; but using it to surf the web while I was otherwise occupied did make for an interesting photograph.
