I was able to find some Gynol II at a local drugstore after all. I purchased the last tube; but the pharmacist said that that it’s an item that they normally carry; so hopefully they will restock. We won’t need any for a while anyway since I had already placed an internet order for several tubes. So, we had our normal Saturday morning fun. And a good time was had by all.

Diaphragm Blues

Meijer no longer stocks Gynol II, the contraceptive jelly, California Girl uses with her diaphragm. We called drugstore after drugstore and couldn’t find any place that carried it. We’ve ordered some on the internet; but it won’t be here before the middle of next week at the earliest. It looks like the tube has 2-3 more applications which is not enough for a week; especially with the weekend coming up. It looks like I’ll be checking out the prophylactics aisle on my way home from work.

Two Quick Notes

Two quick notes.

We are participating in Internet Blackout Day on Wednesday so Married In Ohio will be “dark” from 8:00AM to 8:00PM. During that time, this entire site as well as many others across the internet will be censored/blocked to protest SOPA/PIPA.
It’s been a busy day/week here in Married In Ohio land so we will be holding our photo session on Wednesday rather than Tuesday. As a result, our Two For Tuesday and post will be published a day later than normal. We will not be doing Random Wednesday this week.

P.S. We are empty nesters once again. Good for taking pictures; but bad for other things.

Back To Reality

Last week seemed like a long week but it really wasn’t. Memorial Day (our next long weekend/short week) is 138 days away. Realizing that is not how you want your Monday morning to start.

After a brief vacation with temperatures in the mid-50s late last week the Ohio winter has returned. We didn’t expect for it to last; but it makes normal weather seem a lot colder. At last there is no snow in the forecast.

We haven’t forgotten about the “year in review” post that we usually publish the first week in January, we’ve just haven’t had time to pull everything together. It’s definitely harder to keep get back mojo this time of year.

Both gyms I regularly use were full of people implementing their New Year’s resolution to lose weight. It’s only been a week and they’re already not as crowded. It’s difficult to see results in just a week, especially if your “workout” consists solely of walking in the treadmill at 2.5mph for 25 minutes.

I haven’t yet made my resolutions for 2012. Usually by this time, I’ve reflected on the past year and selected some achievable goals; but it’s another thing that’s turned into a round tuit.

Twenty twelve. We’ve been in the “new millennia” for a long time but I years starting with twenty still seem strange.

We still haven’t taken down our Christmas tree; mostly we’re not in a hurry to mark the end of the holiday season. I’m sure that we’ll end up taking take a day or two off sometime this winter; but our next true vacation won’t be until July.

I didn’t blog much on Sunday because our computer has been crashing a lot recently and I was trying not to use it while the backup I started on Saturday night was still running. Unfortunately, my curiosity got the better of me and I logged in to check the progress at which point it immediately crashed which, of course, killed the backup which had been running all day. I was NOT happy.

The Bengals backed into the playoffs despite losing the last game of the regular season. So now, they’re off to Houston to play a team that beat them by 1 point on the final play of the game. No matter what happens this has been a great season. They have definitely proven the pundits wrong.

It snowed today with more in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Snow isn’t an unusual occurrence during the winter around here; but it really does put an exclamation mark on the New Year and the end of our vacation.

Even though we just placed our order on Saturday, we already got our products from Michelle. We haven’t yet had the opportunity to try everything out; but the X-Scream arousal cream is amazing. We decided to use it during our photo session earlier today and totally forgot about taking pictures. It definitely gets your attention. Much stronger than the Ex-T-Cee that we had got previously. We don’t “need” it and it’s not something we’ll be using all the time; but, it’s a great addition to our goodie drawer.

P. S. We did manage to take some photos before we got distracted. We should be finished selecting and editing the pictures shortly.

Lost The Lube

When it’s past midnight and you’ve already gone to bed for the evening “I can’t find anything” is not what you want to hear. Especially when the anything refers to “personal lubricant”. And, when you are just about to commence certain activities, those words are even more unwelcome. You know that it’s in the house somewhere and that it will eventually be found; but, eventually isn’t much solace when you are in the middle of things. The only options are a change of plans or a methodical search through the house. We did eventually find some underneath some clothes in a drawer; but we were completely mystified how it got there. Later this week, we are going to order several different tubes from Michelle and place them in strategic places in the house to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again.

P.S. And, yes, it was worth the wait.

A Late Start

This week, especially Tuesday, has been ~~kinda~~ very hectic so we did not have time for our weekly photo session. We will definitely publish a photo post this week; but it may be a bit later than usual. Unlike most years, I have to work today; so we’ll get a “late” start on our Thanksgiving break as well. We will have a house full of kids over the long weekend, so, for a few days, it will be just like old times.

Just Stay Home

We all know the mnemonic “spring forward, fall back” for Daylight Savings Time. Unfortunately, for me it should probably be “just stay home”. Today was not a good day even for a Monday. I never get a good night’s sleep after the time change. I’m fine on Sunday when I don’t have to get up; but I keep waking up during the night on days that I have to go to work. Unlike some people who just have to set their clocks; my body takes a long time to adjust. I fact, I was so discombobulated this morning that I forget to take my medicine before I left for work. I’d like nothing more than to curl up on the couch for the rest of the evening; unluckily, I’ve got to do my final research for tomorrow’s election. Hopefully that won’t take too long.
