California Girl Then and Now
1985: When we were younger, we slept in a single bed. The other pillow is mine. I took this picture just before getting in bed myself. I always slept on the inside towards the wall. It took some doing to get into bed without waking up California Girl.
2005: Now we have a full size bed but everything else is pretty much still the same. We even still have the same stuffed dog. California Girl is actually on my side of the bed. I don’t recall when we switched sides but it was a long time ago.
1985: This picture was taken in my sister’s room at my parents’ house over Spring Break. My parents made us sleep in separate rooms. California Girl did not wear a bra in those days much to the annoyance of my mom.
2005: We sleep in the same room now. Our bedroom is not quite as untidy as my sister’s. We put the dog and the raccoon on the dresser to simulate the clutter of my sister’s room. California Girl still does not wear bras but my mom has gotten over it.
1985: The dog was one of the first gifts that I gave California Girl. He appears frequently in our early photo sessions. This picture was taken with our first instant camera, a Kodak. A few years after this shot was taken, Polaroid sued Kodak for patent infringement and won so the camera and film was taken off the market.
2005: When he is not posing for photographs, the dog now sits next to the raccoon on a shelf in our home entertainment center in our living room. We also keep some of the other gifts we’ve exchanged over the years on the home entertainment center as well.
1985: There aren’t as many photographs of me because I was usually the one taking the pictures. You can’t tell because of the blurring but I am wearing the big eye glasses that were popular in the mid ’80s. I also still had lots of hair. And none of it was gray.
2005: California Girl takes more pictures now, plus our camera has both time lapse capability and an infrared remote. I wear much smaller eye glasses now. Unfortunately, the amount of hair on my head is also much less. I though this photograph made my stomach look fat but decided to post it anyway.
1985: This maid’s outfit was the first piece of naughty lingerie that I bought for California Girl. It came from the Frederick’s of Hollywood store in a local shopping mall. I loved the way it puts California Girl’s boobs on display.
2005: I have gotten California Girl lots of lingerie over the years, usually of the naughty variety. We don’t remember throwing it away but California Girl could not find the french maid’s outfit. This purple teddy is the closet thing that we could find. It was not “open boobed” so we had to improvise.
1985: Although you can’t tell because of the blurring, this is one of the few shots of California Girl wearing eye glasses. California Girl usually wore contact lenses but she is wearing her glasses in this shot that I took just before bed.
2005: California Girl took out her contacts and put on her glasses just for this shot. Look at the difference in pubic hair between the two photographs. California Girl is smiling in this shot although the pixellation makes it appear like she isn’t.
