Random Wednesday #65

- It’s seems strange not creating a HNT post even though its Wednesday evening. We considered publishing a photo post; but decided that the not posting any pictures on Thursday (at least in the short term) would be the best way to honor the HNT. We did create a Two For Tuesday post as usual.
- Thankfully, that this is a short week. We love our vacations; but, it’s been painfully difficult to get back into the swing of things at work after being away from it for so long. We know that it’s not any harder for us than anyone else; but, this week has been a struggle. Friday can’t come soon enough.
- I didn’t realize it until we were investigating why the backup was running so long; but we’ve got thousands and thousands of NSFW photos and videos that we have taken over the years that we only had one backup copy of. We’ve got at least two copies of every photo and video now; but would still like someplace “safe” (besides our computers) to store them; but don’t know where that might be.
P.S. this should have been posted earlier; but, I forget to hit the “publish” button. It’s been that kind of a week.
I just started the task of saving all of our photos to a flash drive instead of on my computer. Now, I worry that I’m going to misplace the drive so everything is STILL hogging up space on the computer.
Chickie: I also need to start tagging all of our photos so they are easy to find years from now when the chronological filing system I use now doesn’t help because I don’t remember when something was. That’s going to take a LONG time.
Umm… I’m behind in my blog reading. Why did you stop participating in HNT? Did you give a reason below? If so, I didn’t see. I just see that it’s your final one.
TemptingSweets99: HNT as a community event is no more. Os decided to stop coordinating it, so last Thursday was the final one. We’ll still post pictures, including some on Thursday; but, HNT as we know it is over.
Ohh! Like I said, I’ve been out of the loop for a while. I had no idea that HNT would be no more in the New Year. I guess all good things must come to an end, huh? Thanks for the explanation. I’m glad you’ll still be around.

I store ours on an external 1TB harddrive.
Viemoira: We’ve got three copies. Our regular photo folder. A dedicated backup drive attached to the same computer. And, another backup on network storage. So, we’re not worried about hardware failures. It’s more the unexpected, for example, a lighting strike to the power lines. That would be a bad day. There just doesn’t seem to be an easy solution for safe storage that not in our home.
