Just Not Feeling It Today
I went to a wake (also known as a viewing or calling) today. Like all such things, it was very sad so I don’t feel much like publishing a Two For Tuesday post today. As I always say, tomorrow is another day; the world seems a better place after a good night’s sleep. So look for our TFT post on Wednesday when I feel more like doing something light-hearted and fun.

Last week our lodge meeting was moved to a committee room, the club-room being occupied by a wake which over-run by a couple of hours. The wake was a riotous affair with more laughter than tears. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing.
Alfie: It depends on the religion and the person/family how solemn it is. When my time comes, I want for people to have a party and celebrate my life; but, obviously, I won’t get a vote.
Sorry to read about your loss. I send good thoughts for peace of heart and mind to you and others affected by this loss.
TemptingSweets99: Thanks for your concern. Today was a much better day. Wakes and funerals are always tough. And sadly, I’m getting to the age where I’m there are more deaths than weddings amongst people I know.
MWCB- I agree about the celebration of life but that is always easier said then done. Sorry for your loss…
Viemoira: It is hard; especially in some religions where funerals are so somber; but I’d like to think that it can be done if that’s what the person wanted.
I’m sorry for you your loss. Know what you mean about more funerals than weddings…
Chickie: The only think better than weddings are newborn babies. New babies always make the world seem like such a hopeful places. Watching our kids get born was the best thing ever. I wonder how we’ll feel about being grandparents when the time comes.
