HNT – 275
It took longer than expected but I was able to make a slide show of the photographs from our last photo session. The small picture below is actually an animated cube that rotates in random directions. If you click on a particular image, it will enlarge the same as our other photographs. We didn’t have a lot of time to think about the settings, so the image currently changes every five seconds with a one second transition. There are more pictures in this set. We wanted to see how well it worked for everyone before doing something more elaborate. Please let us know what you think.
P.S. I didn’t have time to optimize the script. If runs too slowly for you, just click on the link below to stop the animation. The large image of the current will still appear and you can use the navigation controls to view the rest of the images.

Ummm.. I vote no on the animation. Too hokey, Too tiny, and it Jumps and Jitters. Sorta like stepping BACK from HD-TV to watching ‘I Love Lucy’ Cinescope’d episodes. Personally I think just about ALL of your photos since you changed to yet another new digital camera have been flops. If you want to look really GOOD, go back and see what you doing in the photos with your wife riding you cowgirl and that Beautiful Series where you were in that Hotel room using natural light. Lighting, Props, and interesting Backgrounds are what can elevate y’all from “Polaroids” to Art. Go over to http://www.luvbight.com and see what THEY do about interior lighting and how EASY/Inexpensive it can be up UpGrade lighting. They are anything BUT Vanilla, but the MasterClass he has on Lighting and Picture Composition. You’ve got a GREAT HOBBY here…. just step up your game. ( Even $60 could let you make a HUGE improvement in lighting. )
Greg: I don’t agree with everything that you said; however, you were very accurate when you pointed out that this is a hobby. We’d love to have a new camera with an infrared remote like the one that we stopped using because the CCD had too many dead pixels; but, these days, only DSLRs have IR remotes and we don’t have an infinite amount of money. Getting a lighting kit is an idea that has been mentioned in the past; but we have yet to find something suitable and affordable. The “easiest” thing is to take more photos in natural light. Time and schedules permitting, that is something that we have done; but we have not posted those photographs for reasons that are our own. That being said, we do understand the point that we need to change things up from time to time and not get stale. Our idea of “interesting” may not be the same as yours; but we will strive to post more variety in the new year.
On the contrary, I was impressed by the animation. Perhaps not being a geek, and having no axe to grind, gives me the advantage of being less critical.
Alfie: We like cool effects even if they are artificial and cheesy. We do this for fun, and part of the fun is creating the actual presentation on the blog itself. Otherwise, we would just use Flickr.
I like it! Hot hot hot HNT!

TemptingSweets99: The transition effects not as polished as they could be; but, we think it’s a good first effort. Happy to hear that you think it was worth the wait.
Me likey! Mmmmm
Michelle: Thanks. It was fun to make; both in the bedroom and on the computer.
That is a wonderful slideshow! Happy belated HNT!
Viemoira: Thanks! The next time we do this, were going to use more photographs.
