Pardon The Interruption
You may have noticed that we were off line for a few hours Tuesday evening. I was adding a bigger hard drive to the server and didn’t feel like waiting until late at night when I usually do maintenance. When we first started blogging, we didn’t have any idea that we would end up posting so many photos and videos. I don’t think that we’ll be running out of disk space any time soon. The change should be transparent; but please let us know if anything is not working. There is no picture with this “geeky” post since our Two for Tuesday post will be up shortly.
So do you host your site, pictures, and videos all on your own? How big is your new hard drive?
Viemoira: We host everything ourselves. Sometimes, it’s a PIA being the administrator; but it’s not that hard to do a better job than Google since they don’t have any technical support and you can never talk to a real person, even if you have a legitimate problem. The “new” hard drive is a spare for an old system that I had lying around in a drawer. It’s small by today’s standards; but it’s still 10 times bigger than the one that we were using previously. We’ll never have enough multimedia uploads to fill it up.
