Ready For Fall?

It was a good weekend here in Married in Ohio land from a sports standpoint. The Girl’s soccer team won, the Buckeyes won, and the Bengals won. Plus all of the games were anti-climatic. Some people enjoy a close game; but I prefer an easy victory for the good guys.

After going to the high school football game every Friday for the past six years, California Girl and I have only been to one game. It’s just not the same now that we don’t know the kids playing in the game and cheering on the sidelines. Almost all of the kids who used to come by the house graduated with The Girl. So we only know a handful of the older players as opposed to most of the team.

Summer certainly ended in a hurry. It suddenly got cold and rainy after weeks of hot, dry weather. That’s good for the grass; but it’s not much fun to be out in. It took me a longtime to warm up after my run. The gym where I box can be hot in the summer (and cold in the winter) but it’s always dry.

At work, I’m drowning in tasks that must be finished before the end of the month. Deadlines are a fact of business life; but that doesn’t make the long hours any more fun. I’d much rather be home with California Girl.
