A Freshman Again
Sunday was the last time that the “Fab Four” will be together for a while. The Girl will start classes soon and orientation has already started. It’s hard for us to believe that we have TWO kids in college. It doesn’t seem that long ago that The Boy was starting high elementary school. I know that they’re “grown”. After all, I do things like go to boxing class with them. But, to me, she’ll always be that little girl who years ago when we were having a series of heavy snowstorms that were cancelling school and work said with such excitement that “There’s snow outside almost every day Daddy!”

My oldest had a meltdown last night about her upcoming freshman year in HS. I think I may feel some relief when HS is over but certainly college brings about a whole new level of stress. Having 2 in college must be a bit straining financially! Hope her transition is smooth.
Viemoira: The good thing about high school is that its close and you can be involved. I texted The Girl earlier today; but we don’t talk every day like we did when she was in high school. TWO kids in college is expensive; but a college education is important; especially in today’s economy. The Girl doesn’t seem too homesick; but even if she is making new friends, I know that she misses her home.
The great thing is that they will always know you are there for them.
Alfie: The distance makes it tough. Is definitely not like when they were both in high school and we ate dinner together every night.
