Random Wednesday #6
Miscellaneous musings from the mind of Midwestern City Boy (and sometimes California Girl).
- The “Touchdown Jesus” statue that you can see from the interstate was hit by lightning during storm on Monday night and burned down. It was kinda over the top; but it was a Ohio landmark that was widely known. Now that it’s gone a trip on the highway won’t be quite the same.
- The Girl’s phone can’t receive text messages for some strange reason which is a big problem when you’re 17. But not big enough for her to stop hanging out with her friends and take her phone to the store and have it fixed.
- The weather that we have been having recently around here has been very frustrating. It’s fine during the day when I’m inside at work; but it inevitably seems to start raining when it’s time to go home. I haven’t been able to do much outside since May. The only “good” thing is that I don’t feel like I should be cutting the grass when I am watching the World Cup.
- I need to have the oil changed in the car that The Girl drives but she’s been so “busy” that I haven’t been able to take it too the shop. Ordinarily I would just drop it off on my way to work and pick it up on my way home; but she howls at the idea of a whole day of summer vacation without being able to go anywhere. She completetly forgotten that she survived just fine before she had her license.

I remember last summer I felt like that- it seemed it was only ok out when I was working and stuck in the office. That is one of the benefits I enjoy about working from home and making my own hours.
The Girl will certainly feel even more frustrated if something happens to the car that could have been prevented with upkeep- good luck!
Viemoira: We’re under the gun at work which is somewhat stressful; especially since I like to think of myself as a drone but I’m really not.
I’m taking the vehicle that the girl drives to the shop on Tuesday. I’m sure that she’ll survive without it for a day.
