Random Wednesday #6

Miscellaneous musings from the mind of Midwestern City Boy (and sometimes California Girl).

  • The “Touchdown Jesus” statue that you can see from the interstate was hit by lightning during storm on Monday night and burned down. It was kinda over the top; but it was a Ohio landmark that was widely known. Now that it’s gone a trip on the highway won’t be quite the same.
  • The Girl’s phone can’t receive text messages for some strange reason which is a big problem when you’re 17. But not big enough for her to stop hanging out with her friends and take her phone to the store and have it fixed.
  • The weather that we have been having recently around here has been very frustrating. It’s fine during the day when I’m inside at work; but it inevitably seems to start raining when it’s time to go home. I haven’t been able to do much outside since May. The only “good” thing is that I don’t feel like I should be cutting the grass when I am watching the World Cup.
  • I need to have the oil changed in the car that The Girl drives but she’s been so “busy” that I haven’t been able to take it too the shop. Ordinarily I would just drop it off on my way to work and pick it up on my way home; but she howls at the idea of a whole day of summer vacation without being able to go anywhere. She completetly forgotten that she survived just fine before she had her license.
