The Boy Is Home!
For the fourth weekend in a row, I was on the road, this time to pick up The Boy from college. We’ve put a lot of miles on our vehicle recently and it’s not happy about it. We got stuck in heavy traffic on the way out and the engine started overheating. The coolant level was fine and I couldn’t find any leaks but it still wasn’t quite right. Thankfully we were very close to our destination and, since The Boy wasn’t yet packed, it had a very long time to cool down. I watched it carefully on the way back but the temperature normal. I’m glad that we got home within any issues but nothing is more frustrating than intermittent problems, especially when you’re your own mechanic. But, the most important thing is we arrived home safely with The Boy.
The Boy had another successful semester. It’s hard for us to believe that he’s already half-way through college. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were accompanying him on his first (and only) college visit. The Girl has been doing well this year too. She’s really matured over the past year or so and seems ready to be a college student. California Girl and I were a bit concerned at the start of the school year; but she’s made excellent decisions regarding her future. Seeing them back together again makes it obvious how much closer she is to adulthood. We’re parents so we’re always worried; but our only true concern is how many boys she seems to be talking too. We don’t say much anything about them to her; but there are definitely too many of them. For now, we’ve adopted a wait and see attitude and are just going to enjoy the reunification of the fab four.

It must be wonderful having everyone together. Enjoy your time!
Viemoira: It’s been GREAT having four people at dinner. I know from last year that this time will go very quickly.
