An Epiphany
The Girl has “decided” on where she wants to attend college. Decided is in quotes because not everything has been finalized; but, after a lot of deliberation, there is definitely a #1 and #2 school in her mind. The fact that she is almost gone hasn’t sunk in yet. It happened in February with The Boy since, in his case, everything was decided earlier. Very soon now, we’ll confront the reality of becoming empty nesters. It’s great that both of our kids have big plans for their lives and are working toward their goals. We just hope that occasionally, somewhere down the road, there are some more “best ever” moments.

There are a lot of moments to come; some of the best as a matter of fact. You are nearing the end of your job as parents, now getting to sit back and see what great adults you’ve raised is where the payoff is!
Congrats to you and CG for what sounds like a great job…
DisappearingJohn: Being parents was/is stressful. But it’s even harder to mostly just watch our son. After spending so much time parenting, the change is very abrupt. One day your mom and dad and it’s just like it’s always been; then the next, they’re off to college and everything has changed.
