The Rain Continues
I drove over a big nail sometime on Monday so I had a flat tire today when I woke up this morning. That would not have been so bad except that the hole was too close to a patch from a previous repair so I ended up having to buy a new tire. And full size SUV tires are not cheap; especially when you can’t wait for a sale. Believe it or not, the same thing happened last fall; but it wasn’t so aggravating then because we hadn’t just spent a lot of money from our rainy day fund. I know things can always get worse; unfortunately, March seems to be starting the same way that February ended. I KNOW there will be brighter days ahead. It’s just very frustrating waiting for them to arrive.
P.S. Check back tomorrow for our Two For Tuesday post. Despite everything else going on, we still made time for our weekly photo session.

We’ve had much of the same luck still. I’m trying to think positive and realistic that the kids are healthy and things could certainly be worse. It is hard to think positive when things keep coming at you. Hope some better luck comes your way soon.
Viemoira: This isn’t the first time that we’ve had a run of bad luck. But all of the other times, we weren’t struggling so much beforehand. We don’t mind bad luck quite as much when good things are happening to people around us. But, it’s hard to stay positive when there are so many days where the “good news” is that it could have been worse. We want some genuinely good news for a change.
Well just remember “in like a lion out like a lamb” However bad just try to stay above water. As for the tire,it may be a little late to say, but they make a run flat tire that will resist puctures and such, only vulnarable in the side wall.Maybe next time your in the need for new tires you’ll look into them.Never have problems like that again.Stay safe and keep on smiling.
Ed & Eliza: We’re not drowning yet. But, figuratively speaking, the water is up to our shoulders. Run flat tires get you to your destination; but they still have to be replaced if you drive on them too long. This is actually the second tire that we’ve had to replace with plenty of tread left for the SUV. We got a nail in the sidewall when we were taking our daughter on a college visit. Flat tires happen. Usually, it’s not a big deal. But, it’s not any fun at all when you already having expensive and unwelcome surprises.
[...] There is a saying that “Bad things come in three’s.” We’ve never accepted such things as true; but, believe it or not, we had a third unexpected major expense last week. [...]
