Raining In February
California Girl and I are getting very tired of emergencies. Lately, it seems like the only luck we have is bad. On Friday, we had to go went deep into our “rainy day” fund. And, even when we’re not spending money unexpectedly, we’ve always got April 15th lurking in the back of our minds. We keep telling ourselves that we’re just in a temporary situation; but it seems to be getting more and more permanent. Obviously, things could be much worse. But they could be a lot better too. And, the dreary weather we have been having just adds to the gloom. It looks like spring will never arrive. I spent over an hour outside shoveling the snow that fell overnight. We will be very happy to see February in the rear-view mirror.
P.S. We watched “The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak” on DVD today. We had seen it before years ago and thought it would be a great way to escape from life for while. It’s a love it or hate it movie and we both love it. We’re curious if any of you have seen it and, if so, what you thought of it?

A spring thaw will surely bring better times ahead. The little extra daylight should help keep away some of the gloom. We’ve never heard over the movie,We just picked up “Dave’s World” with Harry Anderson, the ’90′s sitcom.Always looking for a good laugh on TV.March will bring sunshine and smiles your way, take care.
Ed and Eliza: I hope so. We’re just happy to see March. Gwendoline is from the mid ’80s and quite entertaining if you remember those days. We originally watched it on VHS. The DVD has much better sound and video quality. It’s been above freezing for the past couple of days, so hopefully the snow will melt. I always say “Tomorrow is another day.” Hopefully it will be a better one.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Here’s to a new month, happy March! Have not heard of or seen the movie you mentioned but will put it on my list to check out.
Viemoira: Gwendoline as it is called on DVD is good fantasy, escape movie if you can suspend your disbelief (which is hard for a movie with some not so great special effects and an inconsistent story line).
And, the first day of March has been good!
