KittyKillKill: They found a guy completely covered in snow with a shovel nearby not too far from here earlier this week. He lived alone so he wasn’t missed for several days. They think he was there since Saturday. He was frozen for several days. What a shame. You can find a lot of people to do snow removal for $20.

People have to be real careful about shoveling the snow by hand because of stroke and heart attack. Well, not someone who is healthy like yourself but older folks who aren’t as in good shape.

CleverCanadianWoman: Her problem isn’t trepidation but over confidence. Cars are dangerous; especially when you drive as fast as she does. She’s fine in good conditions or when the roads are really bad; but she just doesn’t think about how roads may be slick and icy in spots AFTER they’ve been plowed and treated. She’s fine if one of us is in the car; but she need to develop better habits when she is by herself. I just hope that it doesn’t take an accident for her to learn the lesson.

I live close to the Rockies and it snows quite a bit in the winter here. My son has had to drive in the snow and it is good practice for him and keeps him from being fearful of winter driving. My suggestion is to let her drive shot distances or be in the car while she is driving to help her know what to do in certain situations. At some point she is going to have to drive out there in the snow, better with confidence than trepidation.

Alfie: The most important thing around here is not how much snow we have but how fast it falls. If the snow plows can stay ahead of the storm, the roads aren’t too bad. Once they fall behind it may not be until sometime the next day before they catch up. We’re 1-2 feet of snow on the ground right now; but most places will probably business as usual tomorrow.

The UK grinds to a halt if we have anything nore than a sprinkling of the white stuff. You would think that the pwers that be had never heard of snow.
