I Hate Blogger!
I HATE Blogger! It was only a few months ago that I was complaining that Google changed the way that OpenID works for leaving authenticated comments. They changed things again on Sunday or Monday so once again I couldn’t leave comments on anyone’s Blogger blog. Of course they never announce their changes beforehand or even say what they changed; so the only way to know is that things suddenly stop working. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what changed and implement a fix. I know that its “free” but it’s becoming more and more troublesome of you use another blogging platform.
Things are finally fixed now so I’ve returned to normally scheduled programming. That means our HNT post will be published shortly.

Oh, I hear you! Since I started using my laptop, something has stopped me from being able to comment on lots of blogspot blogs – even tho I was logged in with blogger! When I changed to the new domain, I tweaked my google account and at least I can now comment, even if it doesnt route back to my domain addie.
Joanna Cake: Interoperability doesn’t seem to be something that Google is interested in. In many ways, they are like Microsoft during the 90s, arrogant and condescending because they know everyone needs to conform to them and their rules if they want even a small piece of the pie. We used Blogger four a couple of months when we first started blogging; but we much prefer having our own domain even if we have technical difficulties from time to time.
I am getting slightly annoyed but have not experienced anything major…sorry to be part of the problem and not the solution…
Perhaps someday I will select another platform. I just have not decided what to do or really given it much thought.
Viemoira: The problem with Blogger is that there is no technical support. For example, I know several people who had to change blogging platforms and lost all of their posts because Google’s software decided that their blog was a spam blog, and, no matter how many times they filled out the forms requesting a review, their blogs never got unlocked. Blogger works fine until you need the intervention of a real live person; then you are SOL. There heuristic robots that they use for “customer service” are good; but they sometimes make mistakes; and when they do, there is no recourse.
