Bison Burgers

We’re still unsettled whenever The Girl has to drive somewhere; but it is nice to that there is someone else besides ourselves to run errands. Today, for example, The Girl had to get gas for the car she drives, so, while she was out, California Girl had her go to the grocery store and pick up a few things. We don’t worry any more than normal since the places we send her are close and convenient to where we live. California Girl still does a lot of the shopping so she’s not become the “grocery bitch” as one of our friends calls her daughter; but she’s become a lot more familiar with the location of items that she doesn’t eat herself at our local grocery store.

Having The Girl buy groceries does have its disadvantages. One day a few weeks ago she didn’t get to the store in a timely fashion and they were already out of ground sirloin for the day; so we ending up having bison burgers for dinner. They tasted OK; but, according to The Girl who was task it was to make the patties, the meat was “slimy”, a proclamation that we heard many times throughout evening. Or course, we told her that if she didn’t want to touch slimy meat, she should get to the store earlier; but that didn’t stop her from complaining about it.

It’s great that she helps; but it will be interesting to see if/when we’ll be confident enough have her get gas for the newest vehicle. Right now, she’s only just a passenger in it.
