Cyber Monday
Random thoughts on Cyber Monday:
- Were the people who invented the phrase “Cyber Monday” aware that cyber is also a term for online sex?
- I HATE going back to work on Mondays after being on vacation. Today was especially miserable since I didn’t get much sleep because of the long drive to take The Boy back to college. Plus, after being out of the office for a while, my inbox was overflowing so I spent most of the day reading/answering emails.
- We decorated the Christmas tree on Saturday. When both kids were home all of the time, we never put it up this early; but, now that The Boy is in college, it’s good to do it Thanksgiving weekend so everyone can participate. We’ll post a picture when we’ve got time to add some NSFW decorations.
- We can’t wait until our Christmas vacation. The days are going by very slowly.

I feel badly that your job situation is so frustrating. Dreading work just wears a person out so much. Wish it could be better for you.
Rosie: The bad economy has made work a much more frustrating place. Management doesn’t want to start any new projects; and everyone is consumed with saving minuscule amounts of money that won’t help the bottom line. (Pennywise and pound foolish.) It’s good to economize; but when you work for a company that is overly cost conscious, it wears on you. Layoffs, pay cuts, empty supply cabinets, multiple signatures for every little expense… the list goes on. Plus, its United Way season, and it’s really hard to listen to their appeals for us to donate in such an environment.
I used to hate Mondays afer the weekend, let alone after a vacation. Since (early) retirement, I don’t know one day from another.
Alfie: I’m can’t afford to save for my retirement; and will not have pensions from the companies I have worked for, so retirement is very far way. I just hope to stay out of the poor house.
