What To Wear?
We’re going to a Halloween party this coming Saturday and we still haven’t decided what to wear. Costumes are encouraged; but we wouldn’t go to a Halloween party without being in costume anyway. Ordinarily, we’d just select something cute at the costume store; but, like everyone else, money is tight so we’re not making unnecessary purchases. So, we’d love to hear everyone’s ideas of costumes that we can create from things around the house.
The endless bad economy is kinda depressing. We’re both very happy to still have jobs; but being happy that things aren’t as bad as they could be is still a sad place to be. Now, we don’t even consider about purchasing things that we wouldn’t have given a second though about buying in the past. Life goes on. And sooner or later things will get better. But we’re ready for a change right now.
i once had no money and went to a party as a stop sign- made the sign with two pieces of cardboard, painted the sign red and the letters white and cut the O out for my face. This year i joked with the oldest kid who was treating me very poorly that if she did not change her attitude i would wear a black trash bag around and tell everone i was dressed as what she treats me like- a piece of shit… needless to say her attitude improved. i hope if anything i gave you a laugh. Perhaps going through the house and finding infrequently used items may give you some ideas…
Viemoira: We’ve got a lot of good ideas. We can just never seem to find everything that we need to make them reality. We like to have coordinated costumes. And we can’t usually find stuff with the same theme for both of us.
My husband and I were Chucky and Tiffany, using my wedding dress last year. Now he’s going as a generic serial killer with the overalls from last year, a flannel shirt, boots and a 50 cent mask we bought. I’m putting on white tennis shorts and a tank top and going as the virgin survivor. You gotta get creative now a days.
I can think of a few bad pun costumes, but nothing that really pops. Beauty and the Geek is easy to pull off.
Sarah: It would be fun to be characters from a recent film for example the new Star Trek movie that came out this past summer. I’m not sure what I could wear to look like a crewman; but I’m sure California Girl could find a 21st century mini dress that looks like a one of the uniforms that the women wore.
Wife and I went one year as a dirty old man and a young sexy trophy wife.
Mike: One of these days when were; going to an adults only party, we’re going to be Lady Godiva and her horse. California Girl would only need a long blond wig. And I wouldn’t; need anything at all except some rope for a bridle, and perhaps something to make a saddle.
This makes me want to have an adults only party and invite you two!
I say go as porn stars…then you really don’t have to wear anything (everyone would like that).
