Closed For The Winter
We closed the pool for the winter today. It’s always a bit depressing looking outside and seeing the winter cover on it. It really does mark the end of summer. We didn’t get in it as much this year because of the unusually cool summer; but it was always soothing too look out and see the clear, inviting water. Now it seems like the cold, hard winter is just around the corner. We turned on the fireplace for the first time when we got home after sitting out at the The Girl’s soccer game today. (We probably should have turned it on after the monsoon we were in at the football game on Friday; but were too busy drying things out.) We like the burning hot days of summer best of all even though we didn’t have as many of them as we wanted. Thankfully, unlike so many other things which are ending forever, there is always next year.
