An Undefeated Weekend

Monday, July 20th, 2009 | Kids/Family | By: Midwestern City Boy

Like many high school girls in Ohio, The Girl was playing soccer this past weekend. (There is a HUGE preseason scrimmage that draws hundreds of teams from around the state/region. They don’t keep score but we (the parents) do and The Girl’s team was undefeated. Plus The Girl played very well. Perhaps as well as I’ve seen her play in a long time. It’s always enjoyable to watch our kids compete, especially when they do well. It’s hard for us to believe that that she’s approaching her last high school season. It doesn’t seem that long ago that she was an incoming freshman trying to fit in with the upperclassmen. Now it’s her and her classmates that the younger girls are trying to fit in with. As it does for most seniors, next year will bring a lot of uncertainly. So now is time to relax and enjoy the results of her hard work.
