Good Happenings
In these days of never ending bad news, I thought that it would be god to reflect on a few of the good things that have happened recently. In no particular order here are some recent good happenings.
- The Boy got very good grades for the second consecutive semester. He excelled in his freshman year of college and has earned himself a well deserved summer of relaxation.
- The Girl scored an almost perfect goal off of a corner kick in her soccer game this past weekend. It was definitely a “play of the day year”. I’ve watched almost all of her games and it was probably her best goal ever.
- We often seem to have problems with our internet connection and associated hardware; but our wireless access point we use for our laptops has been operating perfectly for the past two weeks since I upgraded the it’s firmware.
- I’ve lost 14 pounds in since I started my no sugary/salty snacks diet four weeks ago. I knew I ate a lot between meals but I didn’t realize how much.
- California Girl and I are approaching our 21st wedding anniversary! That’s about 20 years longer than the naysayers who thought it wouldn’t last because of the interracial thing.

Congrats on all the good, especially the upcoming anniversary! That is excellent! It sadens me that some weigh on interracial causing probable issues. Its so unfortunate to think that people are stuck in a mentality like that! Glad you’re both showing them!
Viemoira: Thank you. A lot of people have been together for a lot longer than we have but each anniversary is a big milestone for us. We’ve definitely had our detractors (because of the interracial thing) both in the past and today; but we don’t let it bother us. In fact, it pleases us that the fact that we have been persevered bothers them.
You must be so proud of the children.
Congrats on losing the weight. It’s a surprise what sugar can do to ya!
Congrats on your 21st wedding anniversary to CG!
Rage: They are good kids! One good thing about the snacks I eat is that I don’t eat them with my regular meals so it’s easy to eliminate them. It would be a lot harder if I had to change my regular meals. And 21 years is remarkable.
Bravissimo! Both are wonderful achievements.
