Friday Potpourri #8
We’ve had dedicated posts responding to a few questions posed in the shoutbox, but it’s been a month since our last Friday Potpourri. So here is another Sunday edition of out weekly bi-montlhy whenever we get around to it feature.

Guest_9259: Have you had a vasectomy or is pregnancy concern still a worry for you. We are your age and I use a diaphragm but still worry a little. I am trying to talk hubby into a V but no luck yet. No, we both still shoot “live ammo”. As chronicled elsewhere on this blog, California Girl uses a diaphragm too. Pregnancy is always bit of a worry; but we use birth control very conscientiously; even at the times when we probably don’t “need” it. We’re done having children; but neither of us is comfortable with the finality of a vasectomy or a tubal ligation; so we can understand your husband’s point of view. I wouldn’t worry too much about using a diaphragm for birth control. We’ve had sex over 4000 times since California Girl started using it and hasn’t had any accidents.
Guest_2628: Loaded MUCH quicker today. Good. See below. I’m looking for an Apache module that allows limiting the number of connections per host as a permanent resolution. mod_limitipconn is exactly what I need but doesn’t work with the version of Apache we use.
Guest_8601: Seems to take forever to load page. Some people tweak their browsers to use 10-20 times the default number of connections. They’re really just one visitor; but the server behaves like they are lot more people visiting. That’s no problem is they are visiting Google; but causes a large momentary spike in traffic for us. Things usually speed up once in a few minutes once they are finished browsing; but the site can be painfully slow if you happen to be visiting at the same time they are. Using so many connections is considered bad etiquette; especially since every server only allows a limited number of simultaneous connections; but a lot of people do it. Assuming everyone is using a well-behaved browser, Married In Ohio should load in 2-3 seconds. (On average 1.3 seconds to generate the page and 1.7 seconds to fetch it.)
Guest_7089: How about some new videos. Any chance of CG on top getting eaten out doing 69. As busy as we have been lately I’m just glad that we have time for sex. A couple of activities that The Girl was participating in just ended so we should have more time. It’s really hard to take interesting photos in the 69 position without a cameraman; but we’ll try it and see what the results are.
Taklamakan: Why do you blur out on your faces? Just wondering. To make people less interested in reposting our photographs. We know it distracts and detracts for the photographs; but there are a LOT of sites that post non-original content. The internet is forever, and, since we didn’t know where our photos might turn up, we decided blurring would be the lease intrusive option. Many sites use watermarks with their web address. We wish that it didn’t have to be that way; but, unfortunately, a few inconsiderate people can spoil things for everyone.

Your page usually loads within 2 seconds. It’s much faster than others. Yours is one of the fastest out there.
Congrats on 4000 times, but I’m curious if you keep some kind of calendar to keep track or is that just an estimate. Either way, it sounds like you have a great sex life.
Kate: Except for the Gravitars, everything is here, so there are not a lot remote to other sites (e.g. Google Analytics, Site Meter, etc). So it should come up fast unless, someone is hogging all the bandwidth downloading every photo in the archives. Unfortunately, that happens more often than we would like. Some bloggers remove old photos after awhile; but we like the fact that, except for the template, everything is as it was when it was posted.
Florida Dom: It’s an estimate based upon the fact that we have sex 4-6 times on the weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and twice during the week. It’s extremely rare for us to miss having sex on Friday Night, Saturday morning and evening, Sunday morning, and of course and Tuesday for our photo session. (The other times are more serendipitous.) Plus since California Girl uses a diaphragm, we have a good idea of how much we have sex based upon how often we have to buy spermicide.
I’m glad to see that answer about the page loads. Sometimes when I come by, it takes so long to load that I think something is broken and don’t try to come back for a couple of days. I’ll start waiting just a bit then – maybe until whoever is here moves on. Today it loaded up super fast!
Chickie: I found a version of mod_limitipconn that should work with the web server software we use. I haven’t had time to investigate it yet; but, if it works, it should make more bandwidth available and hence faster page loads for normal visitors. If I configure it properly, it should be completely transparent to regular visitors. Then the page will load like it did today all of the time.
