No Content Warnings Here
One of my big pet peeves is Blogger’s “Content Warning”. If I’ve made a direct request (i.e. from a bookmark) for a page, as opposed to clicking on a link, I probably know what’s featured on the site. And I see no reason to give me the warning every day. If I’ve clicked “I Understand and Wish to Continue” once, I shouldn’t have to click it again and again for the same blog. NSFW content is not that big of a deal to me. I only blog from home and I understand that I may see some potentially “objectionable” material.
At one time, we had considered some sort of content warning here. But, now that we have seen it in action, we are glad that we didn’t implement it. Admittedly, there is a slight chance that someone may stumble across our blog unintentionally. But we think not inconveniencing regular visitors far outweighs the remote chance of that occurring. It’s already frustrating enough that we have to use anti-spam words on the comment form. We’ll still keep the warning logo and disclaimer that just in case. But don’t look for it to appear any time soon.

I find that irritating also. If I clicked on it once, don’t bother me again!
I agree. I shouldn’t have to see it every single time. I guess that’s censorship for ya.
Michelle: Blogger is free so it’s got a large user base. But the software scrap heap is littered with companies that thought they could do whatever they wanted to the user community; paying or otherwise until it was too late. Does anyone remember when AltaVista? At one time, it was THE search engine; and no one had ever heard of Google.
Rage: In addition to being sort of a soft censorship policy, it screws up peoples statistics. (All referrals appear to come from Blogger itself now.) Of course it’s probably just a minor annoyance comparatively considering the fact that since Blogger sometimes locks people out of the own blogs. It’s probably OK for an occasional poster; but not someone who is a hardcore blogger.
