On Vacation
The Boy is home from college. The Girl is finished with finals. And California Girl is tapping away on the keyboard finishing up her work for the year. The holidays are finally here. For many people, the holiday season starts the day after Thanksgiving; but, for us, it doesn’t truly begin until we’re all together and on vacation. The next “must do” thing will be to take The Boy back to school and that won’t be until January. Of course, we’ll do some Christmas shopping and play some computer games; but there is nothing that we “have” to do. Its stressful not taking many vacation days the rest of the year; but these are the days that we live for. We truly enjoy our long vacation with the kids.
And, because, last year, our guaranteed for Christmas delivery didn’t make it on time, I’ve already ordered and received some of the “electronic” items. So we’ve got an extra week to play with them. We’ll open most of the gifts on Christmas day. But we’ll get a lot of enjoyment from the early presents. It’s been a big adjustment for everyone to get used to The Boy begin away in college; but for now it’s just like every Christmas past.

Have a great time with the family all together!
That’s actually quite nice..that you don’t “have” to do anything or aren’t forced to do anything. That’s a nice relief, isn’t it?
Have fun playing with your electronics. I am sure it’ll keep you busy for awhile. Take care.
You all have a great time together! Merry Christmas!
Alfie: We are going to! Yesterday was only the beginning.
Rage: Considering that I’m usually working a LOT with short deadlines, which, in turn, makes it hard to get to things around the house and in my personal life, it’s nice to have nothing on the horizon for awhile. And we do love playing with our new electronic toys.
Chickie: Of that you can be sure. Merry Christmas to you, Sweety and the boys too.
I’m pretty lucky. In my profession, we clock with the school. So I’ll be off after the 23rd.
Oh, you won the NFL pool but I’ll do the picture next week because I was so busy didn’t get to post it yet.
Kate: Besides the “standard” holidays we don’t get much of anything. We’ve got one or two floating holidays depending on what days the regular holidays occur and that’s pretty much it. So taking time off between Christmas and New Year’s only leaves us a few days for the rest of the year. Its great fun while we are off; but it can be depressing when January comes and we know our next off day isn’t until for five months (Memorial Day).
Your pool is one of my favorite. Partly because we pick against the spread; but mainly because we skip the Thursday game. I don’t care much for NFL football on Thursday, especially when it’s on the NFL Network which we can’t get around here. And this is my fourth time winning!
