Just Like Old Times
It’s only for five days; but The Boy is home for Thanksgiving. I hadn’t realized how accustomed I had become to the computer generated growls of Doom monsters echoing down the stairs. It hasn’t been that long since he left, and we visited him in October; but it is really good to see him in familiar surroundings. Other than the fact that he starting washing the huge pile of laundry he brought with him right away (i.e. without any nagging from me or his mother), it’s been just like old times. He hasn’t gained any weight but he has gotten taller. We are considering decorating the Christmas tree this weekend rather than waiting until after he comes home after his exams. Whenever do it, he won’t have any trouble putting ornaments and lights on branches that the rest of us need a step ladder to reach. It’s been a good day!

Sometimes it’s the little things we miss.
Rage: That is too true. California Girl and I are a very much in tune with the household “soundtrack”, and don’t like it when it changes.
