All Grown Up
Observant readers will have noticed that one of these sentences in About Us section of the side bar recently changed to “We have two kids, a son, 18, and a daughter, 15.” Although he is still a kid to us, The Boy is technically an adult. Things don’t seem much different now than they did before his birthday; but it seems strange to call someone who is 18 years old a “kid”. About the only change now is that he’s old enough to sign forms for himself. California Girl and I are amazed at how quickly the time has passed. He’ll still be at home for another couple of months then it’s off to college at which point we’re sure things will be totally different. We’re not looking forward to that day.

Yes, things will be different, quieter with only one at home.
Still, TW and I found that kind of nice. There wasn’t the bickering and all but pay attention to the girl. LP suffered from withdrawls after CB (former SC) went to school. This year shouldn’t be as bad since FS will be home after the end of July. I wish you luck with the adjustment and I hope the son adjusts well to college life and does you and California Girl proud. I’m sure he will.

Our kids have been inseparable for the past 16 years so I’m sure that it will be hard on our daughter. She’s got a lot of friends; but they would always be around like her brother is. Hopefully, her soccer schedule will work out so that we can visit him on a few weekends in the fall before he gets too busy with his studies.
