Married In Ohio

The hundred or so days of summer has started. From now until August, it will just be me waking up in the morning. The kids and California Girl will be sleeping in. I’ll try to “sleep in” as often as I can too. The Boy has been out for a couple of weeks since he was a senior; but this is The Girl’s first full week of vacation. I had a house full of girls sleeping over this past weekend. Her friends are welcome; but, neither The Boy nor I are used to so many girls around. I hadn’t really thought about it, but, I’ll be the only guy around once The Boy goes away to school in the fall. I’m just glad that we have a separate master bathroom so I don’t have to worry about it becoming filled with a bunch of girly stuff.

It’s wishful thinking to say that we have 100 days of summer. There are approximately 70 days before The Boy’s freshman orientation begins. Summer has never been that long for us, especially with the kid’s sports schedules. Even though it has just started, this summer seems especially short. Two and a half months. This year, the end of summer is also the end of an era.
