Snow Days
One good thing about the bad weather we had last week is that the kids had two snow days. When the weather is bad and the kids don’t have to go to school, I usually sleep in and work from home or go work later in the day after the roads are clear. So, I probably enjoy a calamity day as much as the kids do. In a manner very reminiscent of our summer schedule, once I’ve verified that school is closed, I get back into bed with California Girl. You only get one guess for what happens next.
The extra time in the morning is especially welcome since we’ve had a lot of things to do on weekend mornings recently.
We’ve had three snow days in the past two weeks. Unfortunately, none of them have been on Monday (or Friday). What do you do when you unexpected don’t have to be at work first thing in the morning? I hope that you have as much fun as we do.
BTW: The kids are almost out of snow days; but I wouldn’t mind another one before the weather starts to get warm again.

You may get your wish. What is it about kids and snow days and snow days when we are all kids.
Do your kids go out and play in the snow? I’m 21 and I have a sled in my closet for 6am closings and 8am hills.
Another reason why we should have snow here! I had an unexpected late start this morning but that was because I turned the alarm off instead of hitting snooze. Mr SD is away on a business trip so I didnt even get to make use of it

Rosie: Even as adults, I think we would all like to get “free” off days. We only get official snow days from work on very rare occasion, like a few years ago when downtown was completely shut down and there was a Level 3 snow emergency. Otherwise, we have to work from home if we can or take a day of vacation.
Sarah: They have to shovel the driveway before they can play. So, it’s usually a little later in the day before they get out. But there are plenty of places to go in our development; and plenty of neighborhood kids to play with.
Ms SD: Do you have any weather conditions that result in a day off for you or your kids? Snow days is one of the great things about growing up in the Midwest. As long as you don’t have too many and have to go further into the summer.
