HNT - 131

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

As mentioned in our previous post, I didn’t have time to edit photographs this week so, I we are continuing what we started on Tuesday and posting photographs which do not require pixilation or other time-consuming editing procedures. That’s one of the problems with making and posting new pictures every week versus saving good shouts for when you need them. But even though some photos turn out better than others, we have a lot of fun during each photo session. Who doesn’t like an excuse to get half (or fully) nekkid with your significant other? Anyway our theme for today is “maintenance free”. We hope you like. Click ‘em to big ‘em.

Two For Tuesday – 124

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

We live in Ohio (obviously), so we were watching Tuesday night’s debate with great interest. It didn’t stop us from having our photo session; but it did prevent me from editing the photographs until very late. Since it is so late, I just picked a couple of photographs that were easy to edit. I promise we’ll be more imaginative next week.

Here’s a close up of California Girl’s clean shaven naughty bits. Someone requested one like this a while ago.

And, here’s a photograph of (Midwestern City) boy meets (California) girl. We just think that this is a good way to start a photo session.

Snow Days

Monday, February 25th, 2008

One good thing about the bad weather we had last week is that the kids had two snow days. When the weather is bad and the kids don’t have to go to school, I usually sleep in and work from home or go work later in the day after the roads are clear. So, I probably enjoy a calamity day as much as the kids do. In a manner very reminiscent of our summer schedule, once I’ve verified that school is closed, I get back into bed with California Girl. You only get one guess for what happens next. :) The extra time in the morning is especially welcome since we’ve had a lot of things to do on weekend mornings recently.

We’ve had three snow days in the past two weeks. Unfortunately, none of them have been on Monday (or Friday). What do you do when you unexpected don’t have to be at work first thing in the morning? I hope that you have as much fun as we do.

BTW: The kids are almost out of snow days; but I wouldn’t mind another one before the weather starts to get warm again.

Today is the third week in a row that we’re posting a collage. We don’t have photograph sessions planning to make a collage; but, sometimes, the photographs just seem to fit together that way. According to the “rules” we should only be posting a single picture but we like posting multiple pictures so that’s one rule that we seldom follow except when the picture is a collage. Anyway, our theme for this cold February day is “the best of both worlds”. Click on an image to enlarge.

A Couple of Thoughts

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

President’s Day would be one of my favorite holidays if I ever got the day off. California Girl is always off and spends it with the kids. I don’t begrudge her some “Mom time” with the kids. I know the both spend plenty of time with them both alone and together. It just sounds like so much fun that I wish I could be there. I think it’s great that we all still have fun together and haven’t become fragmented even though the kids are older.

The Boy was remarking recently that we could come visit him on Saturdays in the fall and still make it home in time for The Girl’s soccer games later that evening. He didn’t say it with a sense of entitlement; he knows it’s a long way. But, since we’ve always made it a point to attend his (and his sister’s) activities even if it required driving hundreds of miles. So he naturally assumed that we’d visit him frequently. Honestly, I’m not sure how often to visit. My parents didn’t visit much which further strained an already tenuous relationship. On one hand we’d think that as long as he’s interested in talking and spending time with us “old folks” that we should. On the other we don’t want him to spread his wings and not be tethered to the nest.

Two For Tuesday – 123

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

California Girl and I have been wondering if we should change the name of this series since, for the past month or so, we’ve been taking having our weekly photo session on Monday rather than Tuesday. We’ve been doing it for over two years now and it’s become something of a tradition for us. The main reason that we like it is that we take new pictures every week. We always make a point of stopping whatever else we are doing and taking some time for ourselves. It’s easy to get caught up in life, especially when you are as busy as we are, so the structure of a scheduled photo session makes it easier for us to take a break and forget about life for awhile. Anyway, our theme for today is “two for Monday”. Click ‘em to big ‘em.

The Transition Is Starting

Monday, February 18th, 2008

The Boy wrestled in the last wrestling meet of his career this past Saturday. It’s hard to believe that we won’t be watching him compete anymore. It doesn’t seem that long ago that that he was running around on the field in his first organized soccer game. We were there from the beginning. And we planned to be there at his final meets. We just didn’t think that time would go by so quickly. People have always said that children grow up fast. I never truly understood that until recently. I’m sure that we’ll continue to follow the teams; but it won’t be the same when he’s not on them anymore and everyone we know has graduated. We really enjoy going to football games in the fall and basketball games in the winter; in part because many of the players have gone to school with The Boy. California Girl and I often chaperoned on field trips and field days when the kids were in elementary school and have enjoyed watching his classmates grow up into fine young men and women. It just seems weird seeing them almost grown when we clearly remember them being little kids.

In Memoriam Once Again

Friday, February 15th, 2008

I can’t believe it happened again. Senseless violence is always senseless violence; but I’d like to think that there aren’t that many crazy people out there. I’m not naive enough to think that metal detectors and more security is the answer. At best, the guards are just the first ones killed. You can’t protect yourself from people that want to die in an infamous fashion. The only thing that we can do is try and make the world a better place and give everyone a reason to live. Peace.

HNT - 129

Thursday, February 14th, 2008

Osbasso requested that everyone have something red in their HNT photograph for this week in honor of St. Valentine’s Day. So we decided to feature California Girl in red lingerie. I don’t remember the occasion for which it was originally purchased; but I think it’s a nice look for Valentine’s Day. I didn’t have anything red so I’m wearing black boxers with red hearts which I think is a good complement to what California Girl is wearing. Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you lovers out there. I hope you are spending it with the one that you love. As always, click on an image to enlarge.

Two For Tuesday – 122

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

Today is the three year anniversary of Married in Ohio so our theme for today is “three for Tuesday”. It’s not as big as our wedding anniversary (obviously); but we’re happy to still be blogging. Whether you have been visiting for a while or just stared visiting recently, we like to thank you for keeping us going. And special thanks if you are one of the people who have been reading us from the beginning. Here are a few pictures of California Girl and me not doing anything in particular as we celebrate our bloggerversary. Enjoy.
