Great Expectations
For the first time in what seems like ages, there isn’t a soccer game or a cross country meet this weekend. So, California Girl and I can sleep in tomorrow morning! We haven’t had a Saturday that we didn’t need to be up and out early since August. We’ve really enjoyed watching the children compete, especially The Boy since it was his final season; but it will be good to take a break. And, and, and, there is a strong possibility that we could have the house to ourselves overnight for some no kids around fun. I would not want for that to be the case all of the time; but California Girl and I really enjoy the times when we are home alone. I think we’ll be spending a lot of time in the home theater. We might even watch our favorite team play football.
Somehow, I don’t think we’ll mind setting the clocks back this weekend.

This is the first weekend since August for us, too. 3 kids playing soccer – all Saturday games since August. I can’t tell you how forward I was looking to having to be NOWHERE today. It is 2:00 and I am still walking around in my PJs. Heaven! Have a good weekend.
We had no sport this weekend either, it was rained out. Mr SD took us out for lunch and an ice-cream, a low key day but just what I needed.
Have a great weekend
Ms SD
Time is strange. Qualiity time together is wonderful. Sometimes time apart is also required though.
I am “home alone” Wife is in Louisiana and I will have time to redo the home wirless network, mow the lawn. and read some great blogs. I too have a must watch game on Sunday. GO PATs.
Di: We know how that goes. We’ve been doing much the same thing since the kids were small. And we’ll be getting busy again soon. Once the season gets started in December, The Boy will have a lot of all-day wrestling meets on Saturdays. But, until then, California Girl and I will have a few precious weekends to relax. Unfortunately, he’ll have some Saturday practices, so, even though the entire day won’t be spoken for, we still won’t be able to sleep in.
Ms SD: We had several rain outs this year despite how dry it was. But it was mostly go, go, go on Weekends. Low key days were few and far between.
You must be getting into the busy summer season. How long is the sport season there?
Carolina Jim and Wife: I probably need to cut the grass too. But I was too busy enjoying having nothing to do. For us, the grass can wait but we don’t get as much time together as we would like.
Daughters competition is October – March but because she is on the State team she pretty much plays, or at least trains, all year round.

Ms SD: I know how that goes. The girl stated training again today. I know that it is the way of things; but I’d like to see them get more time off.
