Two For Tuesday – 101
Similar to the way musicians do a sound check before a concert, California Girl and take a few “test” pictures before our HNT photo shoot. That way, we can make sure that the camera is aimed (relatively) properly and that we aren’t taking picture of the ceiling. Our camera has a flip out LCD that can be seen from in front of the camera; but we don’t really look at it when we are “modeling”. We can’t verify the color balance since the screen is so small; but we can generally tell if the pictures will come out too dark. At least as long as the sun isn’t setting. Anyway, our theme for today is “light check”. It’s a whole lot more fun to do it this way rather than use a light meter. 
For an interesting way to check the light in your photographs, talk to your significant other.
