The Last Blast Of Summer

Labor Day may be the last blast of summer and it was a good one. The kids had the day off from school (and sports practices). And it was warm enough to get into the pool. There probably won’t be many more warm days like today until next summer so it was good to be able to relax and enjoy it. We’ve already started going to high school and college football games and the NFL starts this week. Fall is definitely in the air. It’s been a good summer; but, like all summers, it was far too short. It seems like just yesterday when the kids were getting out of school and we were looking forward toward a great summer. I’m a bit melancholy because The Boy will be going off to college his time next year. The day will he will walk out the door and won’t be home until Christmas is still a year away, but the end of summer really brings it home.
