Time Stands Still
I know that I am behind answering comments (and shouts) but I finally found time to relax after a very long week. I leaned pretty heavily on California Girl this week; so it was good to “unplug” from the world for a bit and spend some time with her. Today was one of those late summer days that there never seem to be enough of. The children had a rare off day from sports, so, for what will probably be the last time for a long time, we got to sleep in on a Saturday morning. We just got out of the pool and California Girl has gone to retrieve the girl from the mall. And, before we got in the pool, we had some “inside fun” as well. Even when we’re busy, we usually take some time out for sex; but it was nice to know that nothing was waiting for us when we were finished. The telephone did not even ring.
I’m back to my regular schedule next week. I’m certainly going to miss sleeping in next to California Girl. We fit together so well when we are laying there in the morning watching the sun come in through the windows. We’ve been together for along time; but waking up next to her on weekend mornings are still the best. Those are the moments when it seems like time stands still. If I close my eyes for a minute, I could image us back in the days when we shared a single twin bed. That was over twenty years ago but it seems like yesterday. Since then so many of our dreams have come true. But we still dream about tomorrow and what the future holds.

We love lying in bed together on weekend mornings too. Unfortunately we did have to get up this morning for my daughters sport. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

I know what you mean about waking up on the weekend together. It really is the best. my problem is that KD wakes up before and gets out of bed. But when i wake up, I make sure to whine and cry until he comes back to bed with me! Its a little piece of heaven.

Time standing still is best of all. Watching the sun come up together is wonderful but laying in bed and listening to the rain feels so good too. Hope you are able to enjoy these last days of summer.
Ms SD: This was the last Saturday until November that we get to sleep in. It was heavenly.
SS: California Girl sometimes gets up before I do. But she always comes back to bed when she hears me stirring. In fact, yeas ago, she would get up, shower, take the kids to some of their early morning activities; and get back in bed when she got home. Lounging in bed on a sunny weekend morning is one of our oldest traditions.
Interested Reader: It was near 90-drgrees so we were in the pool for a long time again today. It seems like it just started but summer is winding down. Hopefully we’ll get a few Sundays before the weather turns cold.
The beautiful thing about life is that some of your dreams come true, and other things happen that you wouldn’t have dared dream.
I echo ss and alfie. Mornings snuggling when tiger stays in bed are too few in between and dreams coming true is so special while the unexpected is just as wonderful.
Alfie: We’ve certainly had some f both over the years.
Kitty: I can never get enough of those mornings. And I usually don’t like surprises but we’ve had some great ones
