If you were able to visits our blog at all today, you may have noticed that things were going slooow. I upgraded some of the software on the server this past weekend only to discover that there was a known memory leak that wasn’t mentioned in any of the release notes. I spend a long time trying to figure out why the server was running out of memory. I searched the web for hours; finally finding a bug report with the exact same symptoms and a potential fix that thankfully worked. What’s frustrating is that the software with the problem has released for months without an update and he vendor still calls the new version the “best available” and urges everyone to upgrade. One would think that a that the correction to flaw that causes a single program to uses gigabytes of RAM would have been widely disseminated, rather than waiting for users to experience the problem and go digging for a solution. Anyway, it’s fixed now. Please let me know if you notice anythingunusual. I’m sorry for the trouble. It should not be this hard. I’m going to go read some blogs now.

After a very short break, The Girl is once again playing soccer. She’s played in a number of (semi-) organized scrimmages over the summer and it has been a “learning experience”. Not for her so much as some of her teammates. She playing a new position; but she’s pretty versatile so she’s picking it up pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for everyone else on the team. They are young and it shows. It’s still early in the preseason; but a couple of the girls playing defense are having trouble keeping up with their opponents. So, The Girl, who should not have anyone to defend, is picking them up. That’s OK since that’s the job of a sweeper; but, sometimes the other girls don’t get back on their man once the things settle down. That’s when she reminds them who’s supposed to cover whom.

She’s doing an excellent job physically and athletically just like always. But what I have been most impressed with is her maturity. She talks a lot to her teammates and does a good job of keeping them organized and in position. It’s weird because her mom and I still think of her as our little girl; but she’s got a big on-field presence. For her team to be successful she has to play well and make sure everyone else is doing what they are supposed to be doing too. Sometimes, there are life lessons to be learned from sports and thins is one of those times.

Maybe. We’ve mentioned that we might like to have a 3^rd person help take pictures in one of our photo sessions; but weren’t quite sure how to go about finding one. Some people have suggested AFF or similar places; which seem great for meeting open-minded people in general; but we’re looking for a “real” photographer, not just someone to take pictures of us. They would not have to be a professional; but we would like for them to be able to lead us through the session and take better pictures than we can take by ourselves. So, how do you go about researching all of the people that you meet at the various online destinations? Given they type of photographs we are interested in having taken, it seems improper to us to ask anyone who is interested for similar samples. And, how could we be sure that that they are the ones who actually took them anyway?

We know that we don’t have ideal physiques for such photographs, and would not be the best addition to their portfolio. And, we have a few other unusual requirements. So, we don’t think that we would be of much interest to professional or semi-professional photographers. Plus, we take pictures for fun so we would not be willing to pay a lot for their services. Perhaps the best approach would be to find an experienced amateur photographer. When I was in college, it seems like there were always photographers looking for models. In fact, I remember several solicitations to take x-rated shots with my then-girlfriend. Nowadays, I don’t know where to look; especially since were 40-something rather than 20-something.

Have you had someone else take pictures of you? If so, how did it turn out? How did you find the photographer? Would you do it again? Is it something that you would recommend to others? We think that it would be nice to have some high quality photos and for the 2-year anniversary of our participation in HNT. Any ideas or suggestions you have are appreciated.

It seems hard for us to believe but today is our 100^th Half Nekkid Thursday post. It doesn’t seem like we have been doing this for almost two years. We planned to do something more elaborate for today; but since California Girl recently started her period we needed to stay someplace where we could easily keep the towels nearby. Maybe we’ll do something special for our two-year HNT anniversary. Of course, that’s 4 weeks from now, so we could be in the same situation. Anyway, we decided to post some “rare” photographs of us doing things that we don’t do too often.

Here’s a picture of us having sex in a position that we don’t use all of the time. Usually when one or both of us is on our side, we are facing toward each other rather than away from each other.

Here’s a picture of me pulling out rather than finishing inside. Usually, after California Girl has gone though the trouble of getting her diaphragm, we don’t “waste” her efforts.

We also took some point of view pictures but they didn’t turn out as well as we would have liked since California Girl just started her period.

I mentioned last week in the A Quiz post that I have several photographs of California Girl on my cell phone and asked people to guess which ones they were. I thought it was an easy question; but, nobody ventured a guess, so it must be harder than I thought. Michelle recently asked in a comment if we were you going to end the suspense. The answer is yes. We were originally going to do something different; but we decided that “cell phone pics” would be a good theme for today. These photos were taken with our digital camera and then transferred to the cell phone via its USB connection.

This is my favorite photograph of California Girl of all time. If we had some place private, I would enlarge it and hang it on the wall. It was one of the first pictures I took with our then new digital camera and originally posted in I Love This Photograph.

Which photo do you like better?

Guest_1074 asked in the side bar if we were trying for a third child or if the diaphragm had been otherwise “retired”. It’s still pretty much a daily use item. We might not have mentioned it much on the blog recently; but, we laugh about it more now that we ever did. Now that California Girl is shaved, it’s an even more striking combination of old and new.

Diaphragms hit the height of their popularity in the late 50s or early 60s before California Girl was born; whereas shaving down there is more popular today than it ever has been. So, to us, it seems funny using something so primitive with something so modern. Picture this: California Girl getting out of the shower, hopping on the bed and positioning herself just so, her girl parts clearly visible, making it quite obvious what she wants. And then, a short while later, going back into the bathroom to retrieve and insert the primitive device.

We know that there is no correlation between attire and sex; but always being braless and sometimes being pantyless, plus being shaved really emphasizes California Girl’s naughty bits; especially with her tan lines. She’s got a very modern and liberated look; yet she uses an old-fashioned method of birth control. We can’t see ourselves from afar; but, if we could, we’re sure we’d look quite interesting being so “well prepared” for sex except for our method of contraception.

It was a bit chilly because of the wind; but, we were able to get in the pool on Sunday. We were only in the water for about an hour and a half but it was wonderful. The kids didn’t have anything to do, so we just stayed home and relaxed. We went to a party the night before so it was good to have some “us” time. That’s not to say that we didn’t have a good time on Saturday nigh; but, we like to balance spending times with friends and spending time with ourselves. It’s good to be amongst adults and have some adult fun; but it’s also good to have some privet time without the kids or other distractions were we can be together and talk about “things”. And, that’s what we do the most of when we hang out together in the pool.

As I look around blogland, I can’t help but notice how many people are breaking up, getting divorced, etc. Even a few couples whose relationships had withstood the test of time and seemed like they would last forever are going the separate ways. We all plan to be together forever with the people that we love. Sadly, that has not happened in so many cases.

Amazingly, despite our many incompatibilities, California Girl and I have managed to stay together for almost 24 years. I’m not sure what we did to earn such a gift but its one that we both revel in. I’ve never considered myself a lucky person; but so far as staying marriage goes, I have been very fortunate indeed.

We’ve had our share of ups and downs. But, somehow, the connection that we have is still thriving. And we have even more fun together today than we did in olden times. I wish I knew the secret of our success. If I did, I would share it with everyone. Unfortunately, I don’t. But I do know how blessed we are and I am going to enjoy it.

Everyone have a wonderful Saturday night. I know we are.

We won’t be able to get into the pool until the chlorine returns to normal levels, so lounging around inside in our swimsuits is the closest we’ll come to watery fun for awhile. Of course, since we’re inside, I don’t have to wear my trunks like I do when were outside, so California Girl has easy access.

She doesn’t have to wear her bikini bottoms either which makes it other activities easier too. The bushes aren’t nearly tall enough to have sex on a float, so for now, we’ll practice indoors and hope for a warm weekend night.

And, of course, no HNT would be complete without a BJ picture. That is something that we can do outside since it’s a more natural position and therefore easier to conceal. It’s still fun to practice, though.

California Girl and I have been busy in the evenings this week taking the children to a lot of activities so it’s been to dark to take pictures outside by the time we’re both home for the day. We had hoped to have a photo session while they were both out of the house; but, we ended up using the light to work on the pool instead. We were both feeling more energized now that the pool is almost back to normal; unfortunately it was too late at night to do much outside. So we decided to show us using some of that energy. We had some pictures of us in other positions; but we selected these because they show the most raw energy. I’m not sure we’re truly any more energetic having sex doggy style than in other positions; but these photographs capture the moment better. Our theme for today is, of course “doggie style”. We feel rejuvenated. We hope it shows.

For some energetic sex, talk to your significant other.

BTW: WE do have sex a lot on top of he bedspread, or with all of the covers pulled back. I’m not sure when we first started making the bed or stripping the bed for sex; but we have been doing it for a long time.
