Nothing To Wear
I knew it would happen sometime but The Girl has started raiding her mothers closet. She “didn’t have anything to wear” to go see Pirates of the Caribbean on Friday so she borrowed a pair of shorts from her mom. California Girl wears size 5 and The Girl wears size 3 so they were pretty loose on her. She’s built like a 14-year old girl and California Girl is built like a woman; but I still teased her about her butt getting big. (It’s not or I wouldn’t have said anything.) I wonder how long before she’s bigger than her mother? I know that children are usually taller than their parents. The Boy has been much taller than me for many years. It will be hard to think of her as a little girl when she’s taller than her mom. She borrows “other things” from her mom too. So my mental picture of her as the little girl she used to be was already fading. Time marches on whether we want it too or not.

One of my best childhood moments were when my feet got big enough to borrow Mom’s shoes. She had the best shoes….of course, mine went on to become huge :/ But it was great while it lasted
Your post sort of took me down memory lane, thanks! Freaks me out when I see my wee ones and think…wow, some day they are going to be bigger than me!
Michelle: My dad isn’t very tall so I was taller than he was by the time I was 12. And he wasn’t sporty so we didn’t have much of a competition. But our kids really wanted to be taller, faster and stronger than me so they always wanted to race and wrestle. I was faster than the boy until last year and faster than the girl until this year. Now I am the one who’s trying to beat them.
Wee ones don’t stay little for very long. Enjoy these days. Time goes by VERY quickly. It seems like just yesterday when they were starting school and now they are almost finished.
