T.G.I.F.
Sometimes we’re glad that it’s Friday and sometimes we are really, really glad that it is Friday. This past week was not nearly as frazzling as last week when both kids were going a hundred miles an hour in opposite directions; but California Girl and I are welcoming this weekend even more than the last. It may just be the cumulative effect of a very busy spring, or the fact that it’s been months since we’ve had a day off. It was only a couple of weeks ago when we last went on a “date” but it seems like that was ages ago. California Girl and I need to get away by ourselves for and fully recharge our batteries. We do things periodically to refresh ourselves; but we need an extended period of time without the constant rushing that punctuates our days during the spring. I think that we’ll be happier for summer vacation than the kids.
I know what you mean — I need a day off too — to do nothing.

Southern Sweetheart: It came together at the very last minute but we had a wonderful overnight stay in Cincinnati.
