Our Bedcam Setup
On Thursday, Valerie asked “Have you ever posted the details on your bedcam setup?” in the shoutbox. We’ve talked about our camera from time to time but have not said much about how our setup for taking pictures. Since we purchased it was a year ago this month and we just got a spare remote control for it, her question was quite timely.
We have a Pentax Optio 750Z. A medium sized 7-megapixel point and shoot camera. It was an older design even when we first got it so it’s somewhat bigger than today’s models. We also got a 1GB SD memory card to go with it so we can take a lot of pictures before downloading; something that comes in handy for our photo sessions. It takes videos too, although is needs a lot more light than a typical video camera.
One of the two main reasons that we got that specific model was its ability to take pictures at fixed intervals (interval shooting). We can set the camera to take 2 to 99 pictures with an interval of 10 seconds to 99 minutes between shots. This makes it easy to “set it and forget it” at the beginning of a photo session. The camera also supports an infra-red remote control which was the other main reason that we got it. That makes it easy for both if us to be in the picture at the same time and take a photograph at our leisure rather than having to rush and get set up like we would have too if the camera only had a time delay. So, it’s easy to capture a candid shot so long as we keep the remote nearby.
For many of our photo sessions, we attach the camera to a mini tripod, place it on a chest of drawers near the bed and set it for interval shooting. For the others, we will do the same thing excerpt we will do the same thing except we will use the infra red remote, instead of taking interval shots. A lot of it depends on what we are doing specifically in the picture.
We carry the camera around since we use it for other things; but we usually keep the remote and mini-tripod in the bedroom. Except for photo sessions like this past Tuesday when we were satirizing pR0n movies, we don’t play to the camera. We just do what we would do if the camera wasn’t there and hope for good shots.
Sex is funny visually when you think about it. Women usually keep their legs together or crossed except during sex. And oftentimes, sex is quite “vigorous”, even for people who get very little activity otherwise. Our bedcam provides a realistic, “in the room” view. What happens is real, not staged like in poR0n movies. We do it for fun and adventure something that we hope readers appreciate.

“we hope readers appreciate” It’s very much appreciated.
enjoy reading you blogg
nice to see a real couple that posts
real things that happen in there life
Wow, I’m honored to be the inspiration (sorta!)for your most recent post…! Appreciate the info, thanks!!
-Keepin’ it real in sunny Ohhhhhhio!!
The “money shot” is always most appreciated deep inside. The way it should be, whether we use protection or not. Mutual simultaneous orgasms are rare, and satisfying beyond words. We always strive to finish each other regardless of who goes first. I love your open and honest sexual replies to reader’s questions.
Kitty: Thanks. Since there are so many more lurkers than commenters, sometimes it’s hard to tell.
Wayne: We like too read a good story from time to time too, but we fine real life much more interesting.
Valerie: Yes, you were the inspiration. We had not realized we’d said so little until your question. Interactivity is what blogging is all about.
Wendy: I do wonder why money shots are so popular. These days, it seems like the more unusual the better. Sometimes, so much is done for the benefit of the camera that the original significance is lost. The human race would die out if that was all we did.
California Girl and I like the interactivity of blogging. We don’t reply as quickly as we would like sometimes; but we believe blogging is a two-way method of communication.
Thanks for that info. Taking pictures at fixed intervals must be a real boon. It’s high on the top of my list of specs when I come to change my camera.
Alfie: Taking pictures at intervals was a firm requirement for us. Our first digital camera had that capability (as well as an infrared remote) so we know how handy those features could be; especially for a “bedcam”.
