A Few Changes
I have made a few tweaks to our blog recently. Hopefully nothing that will cause any problems. I just wanted to ask everyone to pleas let me know if you notice anything amiss. Here’s what I did:
- I changed the list of monthly archives in the side bar to use one of those JavaScript thingies that expands and contracts when you click on a year. With two years of posts, the plain list was getting rather long.
- I upgraded the version of PHP the site runs on. This change should be completely invisible; but there can be bugs in anything. The last time I did this, I discovered a bug that made PHP virtually unusable with Apache.
- I cleaned some of the permalinks on the site. This should also be invisible since most posts already had the “correct” structure.
I’m amazed how cluttered a blog can get. But even with having to do the occasional cleanup, WordPress still rocks.

Your Blog popped up faster than it usually did so the changes must have done some good. Sending you some of our warm ocean breezes.
Glad you guys had a great Valentines Day. It is our favorite Holiday!!!

I noticed too that you blog came up quicker for me than usual.
Interested Reader: I like to tinker when I have the chance. I’m glad that things are faster for you. We could really use some of that warm weather. Its 7 degrees (-6 with wind chill) outside. Independence Day is our favorite holiday since its warm out side and both of us are always on vacation.
Chickie: I probably should test the user experience of non-admin users more often. I’ve got some extra administrative things on my sidebar so it’s always slower for me.
Dear MCB and CG,
have you ever read the Blog called Sex and Moxie. I believe it is at Blogspot but I think if you type in Sex and Moxie it should come up. It is one of those sights about Dating with advice etc., even though I am Happily Married I get a real kick out of reading it and hearing what all the diffrerent people have to say. The post from last Friday hand 93 comments running. I am just curious if you read it what you would have to say being as I know from your blog you guys are also happily married. The majority of all the men who write in talk about women gain weight, don’t like sex blah blah blah you can imagine the list is endless. And of course the tenor of the blog seems to be Men have it made and Women have to beg or trick them in marriage. The majority, not all but the majority, of the people I know the MAN wanted to marry the woman and did so of his own free will without the woman crying, begging etc., and I am guessing 100% you married CG without her having to beg you or cry. If you read the blog I would just be curious to hear your opinions because I truly respect you and CG and think YOU guys have found the Keys to the Universe of True Real Lasting passionate love and you have done it with kids. My husband and I don’t have children so for us we do not have the pressures of children and I think you keeping your marriage so alive and fulfilling with kids is truly a commendable feet for both of you. Sorry this was so long but after reading all their posts today I thought of you guys and just truly wondered what you would have to say. You guys would probably find the blog interesting to yourself and of course by reading it you would probably feel the same way I do “Man I am so glad I found the Perfect person for me whom I am also perfect for and we live together in happily wedded passionate bliss”

Actually California girl was quite surprised when I proposed. There was no urgency to our situation or anything like that, the time just seemed “right” to me.
So for as Sex and Moxie goes, it’s always easy to second guess things and blame our situation on factors out of our control. But the reality is that people do change when they are married or in a long tem relationship. Sometimes, it’s for the better and sometimes its not. A lot depends on our inner selves and why we did things in the first place. Did we go to the gym because w liked to work out, or because we might meet some nice guys there? It you are authentic and people get you know your true personality and you get to know theirs then you will never be disappointed. Genuineness begets genuineness. Pretence begets pretense.
