We’ve posted from time to time about how when California Girl is on her period we just throw down a couple of towels and do what comes naturally. Since she started this weekend and the towels are a constant fixture in the bedroom this week, we though we would feature the before and after of one of our encounters. The photos are not graphic; they show how things are before we get started and what we do afterwards. Hopefully they will encourage someone else to try it too.

It’s a bit messy afterwards but it’s well worth it. Everyone should try it sometime.
I asked Southern Sweetheart several questions on her How Inquisitive Are YOU? post so I thought it would only be fair to return the favor and have an ask us anything post too. So, today is ask MCB/CG day. Considering some of the things that I asked her, I wonder ifshe will ask us any questions. We try and do this once a month anyway for any new readers. This is the nineteenth time that we have done this; so we don’t expect everyone to have read all of the earlier questions. It’s usually been pretty fun. Here are the rules for any new visitors. Feel free to ask us anything. You can ask a question in a comment or in the Shoutbox. We’ll respond in the comments or, if the answer is long, in a separate post. We will answer anything that is asked, usually before our next post. If you don’t read this when its first posted but still have a question, go ahead and ask it. There isn’t a cutoff date. So please leave us a question if you’ve got one.
The Girl scored three goals in her soccer game today. When she was younger, three goals in a game were not that unusual but now that she’s older and the competition is more even, it’s a lot harder to do. A couple of the goals were “cripples” which is to say that someone passed her the ball when she was wide open and all she had to do was shoot it someplace where the goalie couldn’t get too it. Still, they were both well-aimed, one-touch shots with a lot of pace on them with her left foot. Her offensive game has become a lot more fluid this winter. She’s still scores goals like her first one where she just beats people one on one with her quickness and athletic ability; but I am most impressed with her ability to execute in the flow of the game. That will really help her against tougher opponents when she doesn’t have such a big advantage physically.
It’s interesting to watch her development versus The Boy. Although he wrestled as a freshman, he didn’t decide to run cross country until he was a sophomore, and didn’t really focus on it until the summer before his junior year. The Girl has already decided that soccer is the sport for her. Now she just needs to work hard and focus on getting better faster than the other girls are improving. He is a good athlete but his strength is his technique. She has good technique but her strength is athletic ability. He’s two years older and that makes a difference in his maturity as a competitor.
It’s a lot of fun being the parent of kids that love to compete. All I do is sit on the sideline and cheer but I really enjoy watching them achieve. I don’t think that either of them knows how rare it is to have a passion for something and be good at it. Sometimes, life does imitate sports and I hope the lessons they learn on the playing field makes them better adults.
Because of Mardi Gras we held our HNT photo shoot on Monday rather than Tuesday this week. We’ve been having a lot of sex recently to try and make up for missing Saturday so our theme for today is “making up for lost sex”. We know that we can’t really make up for a lost opportunity but it is a lot of fun to try.
We don’t recall posting a picture like this before but we both though that it was neat. Probably because we like what we are doing.
We know we’ve posted picture like before this but we never get tired of mounting up. And I like the way that California Girl’s boobs look when she’s getting ready to ride me.

If I could post music without attracting leaches who steal other people’s music, I would post Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day”. Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you. This is definitely an “in a belly” sort of a day.
Today is Fat Tuesday the culmination of the Mardi Gras celebration so we are posting pictures photographs with some our beads before we head out to a local Mardi Gras celebration. We have always enjoyed themed holidays and really get into the spirit of days like Mardi Gras or St. Patrick’s Day. Many of our beads are lighted but the lights didn’t show up well in the pictures.

Today was President’s Day and the children did not have to go to school today so this morning was very restful. So, even though we missed Saturday morning, we had Monday morning (and Sunday morning) so we came as close to making up for missed sex as possible. With all of the two hour delays and other late arrivals that I have been having recently, I am starting to wonder if some of my coworkers have figured out what I am doing with the extra time in the morning. It’s not something that comes in the course of discussion but…
California Girl was still wearing her diaphragm from Sunday night and it had not yet been six hours so she had to get another applicator full of spermicide. So, it was the afternoon before she could take her diaphragm out. The diaphragm has worked for us but it is definitely not a set it and forget it device. Even today, non-hormonal birth control seems primitive. California Girl and I laugh about it when she’s getting things prepared but it is a less than modern contraceptive method.
We both really enjoy our time together but we are probably not as serious/businesslike as some couples. Sex is special for us but it’s not so shrouded in ritual that we can’t laugh about aspects of it that seem funny to us.
I have made a few tweaks to our blog recently. Hopefully nothing that will cause any problems. I just wanted to ask everyone to pleas let me know if you notice anything amiss. Here’s what I did:
I’m amazed how cluttered a blog can get. But even with having to do the occasional cleanup, WordPress still rocks.
I had to leave early to take the kids to their activities this morning so California Girl and I missed our regularly scheduled Saturday sex session. I got up early; but because of the snow that has moved into the region, I needed to leave right away. So, instead of a nice time in bed with California Girl I was driving in a snowstorm. I’m not sure how we’ll make it up since Saturday night is already on the schedule.
I had not realized how accustomed we are to our Saturday mornings together until we missed one and were out all day. It’s one of our log standing traditions that dates back to the early days and not one which we miss very often. There is a lot more to life than sex but the two are not mutually excusive.
I am getting really tired of the snow. I bought a new pair of running shoes on MLK Day and have yet to run in them outside. We live in Ohio so I don’t expect it to be 70° and sunny all of the time; but I’ve had enough of the cold and snow for this winter. I know we had a lot of sunshine this past summer but the days with burning sun seem a very distant memory.
California Girl needs to buy a new swim suit. She doesn’t really need another one; but spring doesn’t seem quite so far away when she’s getting equipped for the summer. Besides, I really enjoy her private modeling sessions. I got her a nice cashmere sweater for her birthday but the effect is not quite the same. I don’t like to give gifts that can’t be used right away but next year I may get her something more summery in addition to a see it today/wear it tonight gift.
At least Mardi Gras is next week. We really need to party. Does any one have any special plans for Fat Tuesday?
