Holiday Cheer
Most of the time, Midwestern City Boy is full of energy and enthusiasm. Imight notfeel as lively, particularly this time of year when there are so many dark and gloomy winter days. But I know that with Midwestern City Boy around, he’s always going to find a way to make me feel more cheerful. Sometimes I don’t take the time to tell him how much I appreciate all the little things he does to put me in a better mood, but I know that I am lucky to have him in my life.
A few days ago, he helped to set up the Christmas tree, even though he wasn’t in muchof a mood fordoing it and would have preferred to watch TV and leave the tree for some other time. The holiday lights really help to chase away the winter blues:

Thanks, Midwestern City Boy for the holiday cheer and for being you!

A very beautifully decorated tree! Well done MCB!
Now I’ll relate a personal family tale. For years my dad, being the perfectionist that he is, would spend hours every Christmas decorating the artificial family Christmas tree. As the years passed, dad grew tired of this annual “chore” and then one year he came up with a rather novel idea. After Christmas was over that year he carefully covered the still decorated tree with a large light sheet. He then would carefully moved the covered tree to a safe location in the basement (with my help, I might add – lol). The following Christmas dad would simply take the tree out (from it’s hiding place), straighten it out a tad, after removing its covering sheet, and – voila! – good to go – all in 15 minutes – tops!
I hate to confess this – especially after seeing your beautiful tree – but I doubt if Emm and I will be decorating this Christmas. It’s usually done by this time, and Emm hasn’t even mentioned it. If it’s left to me, it will just be a tiny tree in the window for the benefit of passers-by. Call me Scrooge.
Good looking tree. We still haven’t put ours up yet!
