HNT - 67

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Everyone in the neighborhood has been decorating their house for Christmas so California Girl and I though that it would be fun to have a photo session of us hanging the Christmas lights. So this week’s theme is “putting the lights up”. It’s much more fun this way don’t you think. We had to take the pictures near darkness without a flash so that the lights would show up. We thought thy turned out pretty good for our first attempt at low light HNT photography. Hopefully you will enjoy them too.

Two For Tuesday – 62

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

We did some low light photography for this week’s photo session. Unfortunately, many of the shots did not turn out so this is only “extra” we have. (Don’t worry, our HNT photographs are better.) I know that we usually post two or more pictures, but we always take new photographs each week and some sessions are better than others. We’ll be sure to post extra shots next Tuesday to make up for it. Can you guess what California Girl is doing?

Don’t forget yesterday was ask MCB/CG day. Please feel free to ask us questions in the post below. Even though it is not the most recent post, we will be glad to answer any questions.

Ask MCB/CG Day - 16

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Today is ask MCB/CG day. We try and do this once a month for any new readers. I meant to post this earlier before I left for work today but I was running late. At least I’m doing better than last on month when I was a week late. Everyone is welcome to ask a question. We have done this many times before so we don’t expect everyone to have read all of the earlier questions. It’s usually been pretty fun. Here are the rules for any new visitors. Feel free to ask us anything. You can ask a question in a comment or in the Shoutbox. We’ll respond in the comments or, if the answer is long, in a separate post. We will answer anything that is asked, usually before our next post. If you don’t read this when its first posted but still have a question, go ahead and ask it. There isn’t a cutoff date. So please leave us a question if you’ve got one.

Changing With The Season

Monday, November 27th, 2006

I am thinking about changing templates to something new and different over the upcoming Christmas holidays; but, before I break out the editing tools, I though I’d check with everybody and see if they thought the current template is “stale”. California Girl l and I like the main banner so we’d probably keep it but everything else would change. It takes a LONG time to create a new template since I do it myself. (Don’t worry, there will still be plenty of time to make a movie and do and new photo post.) If anybody has any ideas, please let us know.

One thing we are definitely going to try and do this winter is get out of the house and take some photographs. It might be cold then but I already know how I want for California Girl to warm me up. ;)

P.S. I really, really hate the first day back to work after being on vacation. I’m not used to waking up any more and, it’s like the first day of school all over again for the children. At least California Girl had a good night’s sleep. I’m going to go see if she can help me “recharge”. Good night everyone. For the first time in a long, long time. MCB is going to bed before midnight.

It’s Been A Good Year

Saturday, November 25th, 2006

As I overdose on turkey and football this Thanksgiving weekend, it’s good to reflect on the year that has gone by so fast. It’s been a good year and there were some great Kodak moments. The girl having an amazing birthday party that everyone will remember forever. The Boy turning himself into the fastest runner on his cross country team and winning MVP. The Girl stepping between the lines for her first high school soccer game. The Boy changing from a kid into a man almost overnight. But the thing that stands out the most is the fabulous family vacation we took together. There’s something abut the four of us being together that I can’t quite put into words. Memories that I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. We’ve chronicled much of it on this blog. And we look toward continuing to share our some of those precious moments in the future.

Sold Out

Friday, November 24th, 2006

Despite getting up in the dead of night and waiting out side in 30-degree weather, we couldn’t get laptops for the kids. Based upon everyone’s input, and some careful reflection of our own, we did decided that laptops would be appropriate Christmas presents for them. But we made the “mistake” of sleeping at home rather than camping out all night. Our vacation days are too precious to spend sitting in sports chairs, waiting in line. We’ll check online and see if we see anything in our price range. So farm the deals haven’t been as good but nothing beats shopping from the comfort of our study, playing MP3s with a fire going in the fireplace. If anyone sees any amazing deals for a low-end laptop online, please let us know. Soon we will be headed out to dinner and a club or two. Everyone enjoy their weekend.

HNT - 66

Thursday, November 23rd, 2006

California Girl and I have a longstanding tradition of participating in a Thanksgiving morning run in a nearby town. We also recently got some Gore-Tex rainwear for the winter running season. So that we though a good theme for today would be Thanksgiving Day road races. Before getting together with our extend family, we’ll be up early, taking to the streets for our annual Thanksgiving Day run. It’s warm and dry outside for November so we will not be wearing it tomorrow; but we decided to show us in our new heavy weather gear anyway. The weather has been really foul for some of the races we have run. Anyway, our theme for today is “Thanksgiving tradition”. Hopefully it is not too inscrutable. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

And, because it was easy, here are a couple of other pictures of us in our half-dressed in our running attire. (Guest_2769 you knew there would be a BJ picture in there somewhere. :))

Two For Tuesday – 61

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

I accidentally bent my dick into a funny position on Tuesday night but, with California Girl’s assistance, I did not let that spoil then fun. The good thing is that I am on vacation so I’ll have plenty of opportunities to check it out and make sure that it is healed. The bad thing is that because of my “injury”, we didn’t take as many pictures as we usually do. Here are a couple of pictures of California Girl giving my wounded member some TLC.

Kids and Computers

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006

California Girl and I are considering braving the early morning Black Friday sales and getting the kids laptop computers for Christmas but we have a couple of reservations. First, unlike their current computer which is in the study with the monitor facing the hallway, they would be able to use them in different locations where it wouldn’t be as easy to check up on them. Second, In addition to making it harder to supervise what they were doing, it would be more difficult to limit their computer time since they would not always be in a visible location. They are both in high school but we keep track of their on-line activities pretty carefully. They are well trained and we’re not worried about them becoming the victims of online predators. But, having their own computers increases the possibility of them spending too much time on-line and neglecting their other responsibilities. Do any of your kids have laptops? If so, how do you monitor them? Any thoughts would be appreciated. The systems we are considering are nothing elaborate, just something good enough for web browsing, word processing, etc. They won’t even run all of latest games.

A Very Short Week

Monday, November 20th, 2006

Today was the first, last and only day I have to work before Thanksgiving. I’m off for the next six days! Everything is not copasetic but I am still taking the rest of the week off. California Girl has to work part of the time but we’re still going to make the most of when we are home while the kids are in school. In fact, I may try to interest her in a Thanksgiving-themed photo shoot. It would be nice to do something outside but the weather gods aren’t cooperating. It anyone has any ideas on how to best feature the holiday in a series of photographs, please let us know. And if you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving and won’t be around for a few days, California Girl and I would like to wish you and yours a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

P.S. We will be participating in both Two for Tuesday and Half Nekkid Thursday this week.
