A Quick Question
I’m not quite sure how the topic came up; but, earlier today, myself and a female co-worker were discussing whether men or women who feels more comfortable begin seen naked by members of the opposite sex. Although I consider myself fairly open as guys go, I have always thought that, as a general rule, women were more comfortable being seen by men than the other way around. I’m not sure what the big deal is anyway. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I realize that your answers aren’t scientifically accurate but I still would like to know.
For privacy reasons, California Girl and I pixellate our faces in the photos we post but we aren’t so bashful in real life. What, if anything, do you do if you post NSFW photographs of yourself? And what do you do in real life?
BTW: I know this is more than one question but they all have the same underlying theme.

I would think that men would feel more comfortable being seen naked by women. Is it a generalization? to think men are simply more use to being naked – as in showering, going shirtless, etc. As for NSFW pictures – honestly there is so much of me to get in the frame that my head, aka face, simply does not get included. So they work out fine. You can see examples. And in real life – Do you mean pictures taken by others when naked? Because I don’t go to Target for photos without clothes.
I’m more comfortable being seen nude by a man. Women compare
So I try to avoid that as much as
possible!
As far as pictures I’ve taken..I tend to cut out my eyes….and my hair (it’s distinctive…) and I feel that makes me completely unrecognizable….
But I could be insane.
i dont cut anything out of the pics…but they are all pw protected…and i know who has the pw…that, of course, doesnt really stop people from stealing them, but…..
i am comfy in front of either sex…its my body, and ultimately, i have to be happy with it…if someone doesnt like it, they are welcome to not look…its really not going to hurt my feelings…
peace…
I am more comfortable being naked in front of a man than a woman – most men look at a woman’s body as a thing of beauty and overlook any imperfections where most women will look for the imperfections.
As you know we dont post any pics with our faces, although there was quite a bit of mine in last weeks.

Rosie: Men are probably more used to being naked, by other guys but often turn into wimps when it comes to being seen by multiple women at the same time. You might be surprised how “shy” guys can be. Look at the number of men contributing to HNT compared with the number of women.
I was curious how open some of my fellow HNT bloggers are. Some are naked and completely identifiable, some are naked and relatively anonymous and some are in between. I was just wondering about people’s comfort level; especially compared to real life. I know it seems strange but we’re less concerned about preserving our privacy in real life than on the ‘net. And we have probably had more than our fair share of opportunities to be “exposed” in real life.
Kelly: I hadn’t really thought about that aspect; but, now that you mentioned it, I have noticed that women are often more critical of other women. So you do the completely anonymous thing in photographs but IIRC you don’t mind going to nude beaches?
Monkey: All of our pictures are available for anyone to download. We always thought that having to password protect every ting would be more nuisance than it’s worth. How had having a password worked for you? BTW: I think that your attitude (if someone doesn’t like it, they are welcome to not look) is the best one to have.
Ms SD: I think that you’re right that men are not as critical as women when it come to naked women. Most guys have the attitude that there is no such thing as a bad naked woman. And I really liked the picture you posted last week.
I am a Pagan nudist. I am perfectly comfortable around either sex. My wife on the other hand, has no problem going bottomless around others but insists on a 2XL shirt to hide her chest and tummy.
Photos, I have no problem showing anything but the wife will not allow me to post anything that shows her face. Her father is a dirty ol man who likes to surf the web for porn and she is afraid he might find photos of her so for that reason…
NoR: I would have though women would be more comfortable topless. But that’s why I asked the question; to get different perspectives. So far as showing faces go. My parents could recognize us and our surroundings instantly even if we were completely headless. Fortunately, they don’t surf the internet much and never heard of blogging.
I think some women think of their breasts in the same way men think of their dicks. i.e. My boobs are too small/big/saggy/etc. so they tend to be more self aware of the top half of the body than the bottom. Then again, this is only based on conversations I’ve had with a small handful of women.
Hey, one last thing, I noticed you registered on my site. Because of the awsome blog you have here and the photos you’ve shared, I gave you access to the photo gallery.

NoR: I think that you make a good point. The funny thing about being self conscious is that most people don’t look at us nearly as critically as we look at ourselves.
And thanks for giving me access to the photo galleries on your site. I took a quick peek yesterday and will return for a longer look sometime this weekend.
