The First Meet/Game Saturday

Sunday, August 27th, 2006 | Kids/Family | By: Midwestern City Boy

It was a busy but victorious Saturday for us. The Boy did very well at his race on Saturday morning and The Girl’s team won their game on Saturday night. I drove over 300 miles getting them to and from school before and after their competitions and of course traveling to and from the locations that they were competing at. I knew that Meet/Game Days would be hectic once they were both in high school but I still wasn’t truly prepared for it.

All of the training The Boy did over the summer paid off. He ran well and finished strong. He plans on doing better next weekend and I think he will but it was still a great start to the season. The Girl rates her play in the game on Saturday as “pretty good”. I though she played very well. She’s so used to starting and playing the entire game that she doesn’t understand how unusual that is for a freshman; especially for a “young” freshman like herself.

I am having a hard time adjusting to the fall schedule. I was so tired when we finally got home that I fell asleep on the couch. And today has absolutely flown by. I just hope that I’m more accustomed to the schedule next week.
