A Party To Remember
Temperatures in the upper 80s with only a few clouds… free
40 of your best friends the summer before you start high school… free
An afternoon under the sun in the pool in your backyard… free
A birthday party that you will remember for ever… priceless
Sometimes, the best things in life are free. And The Girl’s birthday party this year was one of those memories that will last a lifetime. Of course we spent $200 at the local warehouse club and dollar store for food and party supplies. But, it was worth it to see the smile on her face. She and her friends had a blast. The weather was warm and sunny, perfect for a pool party. We played music throughout the house and on the deck from several party mix CDs I made from WMAs (MP3s) The Girl and I spent the morning downloading. And California Girl and I put out a BIG spread of food, drinks, and, of course, birthday cake for everyone to enjoy. Today was one of those amazing days where everything fell into place.

That sounds awesome! I’m so glad you guys had fun. She will never forget that…
How nice! I remember her party last year! Does that make a long timer???
Happy SAturday! It was 102 here (yes it really was) and expect the same tomorrow.
Can you say – boat time!
How cool! Happy Birthday to her!
Melanie: It was great fun. She’s still enjoying her “after party”
Kelly: You are definitely a long timer as blogging goes. I am too. At least I wasn’t surprised by the swimsuits they were wearing. This time I knew what to expect. Enjoy your time in the boat out on the water on Sunday.
Ber: Thanks. They’ve finally settled down for the night so I can get some sleep too.
Sounds like one great party! 40 teenagers – you & CG need to be congratulated just on that part!
Ms SD
You are a brave souls, and loving parents. I too remember last year. This year sounds wonderful – a LOT of happy kids. But the heat!!! – you like it and so I like it for you. But darn, this redhead will retreat inside.
Ms SD: It was a lot of work. I felt like the cook at a greasy spoon when I was cooking hamburgers for all of the kids. But kids are only young for a short time. They’ve only got a few more birthdays at home.
Rosie: There were even more kids than last year. Thankfully, the weather was good so they were mostly outside. I don’t think we could have kept that many kids entertained inside if it had rained. And unlike last year, several of the girls spent the night after the party was over, so, it was a long day/night.
I love the weather and the heat. I’m going to go for a run before it gets too hot then I’m going to get into the pool myself.
Can you adopt me??? My parents never did anything like that for me… I was always grounded on my birthday cause it was right around mid-semester report card time…
Jessica: We’ve got an extra room in the basement.
That’s one of the advantages of having a summer birthday. You’re usually not grounded for bad grades. But, The Girl has been know to get herself grounded during the summer.
