Married In Ohio

For the first time in a long time, California Girl and I went a whole weekend without sex. It wasn’t for lack of desire so much as for lack of time. I’m sure that we could have squeezed in a quickie; but I didn’t want for her to think that I was working her in around a very busy weekend. I know it happens to everyone on occasion but I don’t usually feel like I am too rushed and harried for sex. But this weekend, the chores have been piling up. Among other things, I need to cut the grass, replace some lighting in the kitchen, and run some errands. But it was all I could do to take a few minutes and pump water from all of the rain we had last week out of the pool before it over flowed. I really, really need some TLC with an emphasis on the “L”.

I also need to do something nice for California Girl. Despite the excellent weather we have been having, I did nothing but work, work, and more work. When the kids were small, I used to work long hours much more frequently. Nowadays I feel like I’m missing out if I don’t get at least one day off over the weekend. When the kids were younger, I thought that we would all be together forever; so I didn’t really think much about doing whatever it took to get the job done. Now, every singe say seems a lot more precious. I’d like to come home early tomorrow and just relax with the family. And maybe take California Girl out to eat. I’ am so ready for the weekend. Unfortunately, the work week just started.

My “fun” meter is pegged and not in a good way. It’s almost 10:00 P.M. and I’ve been working since 9: A.M. on Friday morning. I tool a short break earlier today but it has been far too long of a day/night/whatever. Why am I working so hard? It’s that “specialized knowledge” thing. We’ve got two hot projects hat have to be finished by the end of the month and I’m the only one with the required expertise. So I’ve been working double time and then some to try and get them finished. Plus on top of that, one of my co-workers has been having a number of thorny problems requiring help even though I don’t really have the time. I’ll survive. It’s only a short forced march. But I wish that there was someone else that they could rely on. And in a cruel twist of fate, both kids are at “Pirates of The Caribbean” so California Girl and I have had the house to ourselves for quite awhile since its such a long movie; but I’ve got too much work to do to take the kind of break that I would like too. Besides, I need a shower. And a shave. And a haircut. And some sex.

We mentioned recently about how we went shopping on Sunday and both got some new clothes. I got some new things for work and California Girl got some new summer clothes. Since we haven’t done a Half Nekkid Thursday photograph where we are only half nekkid in a while, we though that we would post pictures of ourselves “modeling” our new outfits. So, our theme for this week is new clothes.

Since she never wears a bra, California Girl also got some new undershirts to wear under some of the tops and sweaters that she wears dung the fall and winter. You can just barely see the outline of her boobs under her undershirt so she could use them for outerwear as well. And you should be able to see where this is leading from the second picture.

California Girl got a neat looking necklace with one of the outfits that she bought on Sunday so we decided to wear feature it in our Two For Tuesday post for this week. This Two for Tuesday post is way late so we decided to include a couple of “bonus” pictures. (I know we only very loosely adhere to the two photograph rule.) With everyone on their summer schedule, we’ve had a hard time getting together for our HNT photo session before it gets to late. So that’s delayed the creation of many of our Two For Tuesday posts until Wednesday. I would apologize for it but I really like what we have been doing with our time together. And it hasn’t been all swimming in the pool and having sex. Although there have been substantial amounts of both, we have also been doing things like watching DVDs with the kids. Anyway, here are our pictures for this week

Today is ask MCB/CG day. We try and do this once a month for any new readers. Everyone is welcome to ask a question. We usually try to do this the third week of the month but last week was a busy one for us and we didn’t get to it. This is the thirteenth time that we have done this. The questions have been pretty interesting in the past. It’slate in the day but we usually don’t post our Two For Tuesday post until sometime on Wednesday anyway. Well I finally broke down and bought some new “business casual” outfits to wear to work. Why is that significant, you ask? Because it’s a conscious admission that I’m going to be there long enough to make such an investment worthwhile. For a long time, I was reluctant to update my work wear. First because I thought I might be downsized. And then because I though that I might not like the new regime and have to go elsewhere. I’ve know that nether of those were going to happen for quite a while. So it was time to update my wardrobe.

I went shopping with California Girl and The Girl which is an adventure in itself. Besides spending a LOT of money, I couldn’t tell whose stuff was whose when we got home. They both wear small junior sizes and the girl is a conservative dresser so there is a lot of similarity in the outfits they bought. Plus they were trading the belts that came with the bottoms. It’s weird that they can wear any of each others clothes. I’m still not sure I like The Girl wearing some of her mother’s bikinis that she doesn’t wear anymore for one reason or another.

I bought some new stuff too. That was the main purpose in going after all. But it’s not nearly as fun to buy things for work as it is for play. Especially since I’m an odd size for men. (I don’t think I’m smaller than average; but it was definitely easier to find clothes that fit toward the tail end of the season when I was heavier.) I really wish I could wear jeans to work.

I know its true for a lot of people who blog but if you passed me in a hallway at work, you would have no idea where I go or what I do once the whistle blows. We may be “married with children” but we still know how to enjoy ourselves and have fun. California Girl and I had a great weekend and are sorry to see it come to a close. We hope that yours was good too.

With all of the warm days that we have been having, I haven’t been around as much as usual. We’ve been spending a lot of time in the pool. We wanted to enjoy the weather while we could. It’s rained off and on throughout the evening and more of the same is expected for the weekend. So, it doesn’t look like we’ll be doing too much swimming this weekend. But we really enjoyed the great pool weather while it lasted.

We talk a lot about the pool but we haven’t posted very many pictures so I thought that I would post one of my favorites. This picture was taken one evening when we had just gotten out of the pool. Can see why we enjoy it so much?

We are looking forward to spending sometime inside this weekend catching up on the things that we have neglected while we’ve been outside enjoying the summer. Like most of the rest of the country, it’s been very hot here. There has been a lot of discussion in blogland about how miserable the heat is recently so we decided to post about the good things about unseasonably high temperatures. So our theme for this week isridin’ nekkid.

California Girl and I were talking earlier in the week about what it would be like if we didn’t have to wear many clothes when we were out and about. So, we decided to go to a nearby park and find out. We found a good place to park and got out of our clothes which was easy since we just had our swimsuits on. This collage is the result.

We tried to take things too the “next level” but the mechanics didn’t quite work. Other cars were driving by in the vicinity and we didn’t feel comfortable being in a position where we couldn’t see approaching vehicles. There’s always next time. Maybe then the will not be so much traffic.

We did something different this week for Half Nekkid Thursday so our Two For Tuesday post is late so as to not to “give away” or theme for HNT. Let’s just say it involved sex and being nekkid in the car but not in the garage. And since it was so popular last week, there is another quiz. The question is below the photograph.

The temperature is supposed to be in the 90s for the next few days. Where was the heat when we were on vacation and it most days were too cold to get in the pool? Now, we don’t even have to turn on the heater. We just put on our swim suits and get in. There is no such thing as too hot if you’ve got a pool. Here is one of my favorite songs for weather like this.

I will say that running (if you can call it that) I this weather is “interesting”. I always run outside in the summertime, evening if it’s roasting hot. I did see a few other runners on the path so I wasn’t the only one out.

Life has been pretty hectic lately but I love the “dog days” of July and August. They are part of what makes the summer great. Right now it doesn’t look like the hot weather is going to last until the weekend; but I’m cautiously optimistic. I know everyone doesn’t like hot temperatures as much as we do but I hope everyone is enjoying their summer anyway.
